Great to see our Directors interacting with the community and spreading the love so to speak.

Yeah, grand gesture but how long before some numpty accuses him of ignoring our other amateur Leigh team.
I bloody hope not but..........................

Good to see the club recognising our local 'amateur' clubs. That, for me, is what the spirit of the proposed new RL structure is about - clubs at all levels pulling together, for the mutual strength of the Game. Let's face it, Championship clubs, and certainly ours, would be all the poorer, but for the likes of Miners and East. If only the SL clubs would all recognise that they too, would be much worse off, without the Championship clubs, and the 'amateur' clubs.

Ah, but did the BOM not recognise the contribution of the 'other' amateur club in town, when Sam Hopkins signed for Wigan?

Yes Alan i remember, in fact it was the first time i had known that happen and was so chuffed and proud of our club. It was because of that thread and some of the comments that made me post what i did . If i remember correctly ( no guarantee there lol) one or two had digs for not paying miners for players who went on to big and better things from Leigh after Leigh getting them from miners.

I understood where you were coming from with your post - it does happen! It's about time the club valued BOTH the town's cracking 'amateur' clubs. (i.e. as they now appear to be doing)

I've meet Andy a couple of times & he's a top bloke who is putting his hard earned cash to take our club forward

What are leigh fans opinions on hopkins and how well do you think he will do at wigan not seen much of him and just wandering how leigh fans rate him.

He's crap. Send hime back to Leigh on a loan deal where we don't have to pay any of his wages and cannot be recalled. Honestly, he's that bad.

A complete waste of space and although he is a nice guy he is hopeless at Poker' tackling' driving in hard and has no pace.He is a bit on the small side for a forward.

All us Leythers are glad he has gone.

Wouldn't get in the Leigh Miners side even if they had an injury crisis.

Mind you if he could tackle I think our coaching staff would have kept him because he did seem to have potential but none of us ever saw it.

But if he wants to come back I'd give him a chance cos I am that sort of guy.
