‘We are in this together’, what a statement, this got me thinking and this is what I believe.
The new people in charge are most definitely trying at the very least to turn things around and the positivity it creates is very exciting, I know Sundays result was disappointing but does it really matter, we will still be playing Fev, Fax Sheffield etc next year. In any sport there are highs and lows, but you have to be ‘on the Ride’ to enjoy it, The highs of our championship win in 2004 and more recently our 3 Northern rail wins far outweigh the lows of Sunday. Yes at times we are fed up of players not seeming to perform, but having a son who at 15 loves playing our great game and comes off the field every Sunday with bruises, cut lip, broken ankles, etc. I admire everyone who goes out onto that pitch and puts their body on the line, because I for 1 would not. I will always be a LEYTHER TILL I DIE, and we ARE in this together, keep up the great work that is still in its infancy, come on you leythers, rome wasn’t built in a day.

Do the free U16s Season Tickets include away games too, or are the Championship clubs not doing this anymore?

What is at the forefront of our strategy is a realisation that we are missing a generation of fans and for the club to succeed it is critical we target tomorrow's fans whilst making the experience of our current fans more enjoyable and affordable
We will not please all, all the time but you will see plenty of positives unravel over the next few weeks to excite our current fan base whilst motivating them to 'sell' our vision to their families and friends
We will also be appealing to the wider community to join us at this very critical time because we really are in this together, and together we will have a great future with plenty of fun along the way

I'd like a bit more clarification on who ' we ' is?

Well, John Roddy's press release mentions the BOD/BOM, Coaching Staff, Players, Juniors, Sponsors, Advertisers, and Supporters, so I suppose it's a combination of those.

However, if you are referring to [iadvocatus diaboli's [/irequest, to take his old lady, then you can count me out! (no offence to a.d's better half!

)

It's fairly simple really. Anyone who wants to be involved.

Something that looks and sounds realistic , achievable and believable.

Things are looking up with so many of the small things we have always done spectacularly wrong seemingly being addressed bit by bit.

A lot of positive stuff coming out of the club and whilst the work is only just started its pleasing to see our BOD / BOM trying to unite all factions of the community and all factions of the RL community in our area.

Early days but things going very much in the right direction, looking forward to more of this !

It is my personal belief that with two teams coming down end of 2014 for 2015 season combined with the increased revenue for the two that finish top in the championship 2014 that all four (two relegated from SL & top two next season) will be pretty much full time for 2015 Championship (SL2) season.

This highlights the importance of being in top two next season as four teams being full time would mean virtually no chance for the rest in my opinion and leave mountains to climb if ever wanting to play top flight RL ever again.

Not or bust as the BOM and increased revenue will finance the additional budgets next year and beyond but we need people to come out and stand behind us if they really want a SL team in Leigh now.

Crowds of 1400 or indeed less than 2k simply won't make it happen.

I read on the Fev board a couple of weeks ago that the majority of their squad next season will be full time.

Can't honestly see any other Championship side being able to do that quite honestly.

Having said that with our current BOM I am convinced our club is going in the right direction.

Believe me, you made a wise choice there, Alan.

I've also heard this myself, therfore i for one will be putting a email into the RFL to see how they can fund under the £300k salary cap a team of full time players. 17 players would only be getting £17,650 a year in wages. Yeah right, that leaves nothing for anyone else to come in, Unless its a clear breach of salary cap i dont know how they will get round it.

The Watcher is pleased to see that his suggestion to let u16s in without charge has been taken on board by the BoM, he also hopes a more realistic admission price is on offer for the grown ups of Leigh in 2014

My Dad says It is £12.30 a game with a season ticket and you bring your child for free- bargain he said and no twinning as well which will get the hordes back

And if anybody KNOWS it will be your Dad
