Well from the look of the responses on the LoveRL site it may appear that Barlow hasnt signed as yet never mind Wilkes!

I beleive the club are issuing a press release confirming this pm.

Oli is 33 year old so no spring chicken but I am happy with this signing if true.

Apparently Sam has denied signing for anyone yet and will only decide after the world cup. I don't know how true this is but I am not sure why the club are trying to announce the signing of a player still involved in the championship play offs along with Leigh.

Well, he's kept himself fit, so we'll get a good couple of seasons out of him at least!!....and being a Leyther 'Old Boy', he knows 'the gaffer', so should have no trouble buying into the team ethos!!

I just hope the club have his signature already dried on a contract - 'cos we've had too many 'egg on face' moments [i"under previous administrations"[/i over the years.....don't want the new lot getting off on the wrong foot!!

Well i would not of signed wilkes, another playey nearing the end of his career. But then again i would give him a chance like all new signings

The board would of been aware of past goings on with the club & I have my faith in them that history won't repeat itself.

You cant beat having an old head in the pack and thats what he will be... makes good yards and when ihave watched him this year i have been impressed. Isee this signing as parkers replacement.

I can confirm we have indeed signed Oliver Wilkes from Wakefield on a one year contract for 2014.

It seems Trevor Hunt has jumped the gun as it was supposed to go out later in the week on our website to coincide with the Journal and other press releases so thanks Trev



Regards Sam Barlow we have his signature on a two year contract and its registered with the RFL so I can only presume he's trying to dilute any Fev fan reaction to the news.

These are just two of five confirmed signings we have made to date of which official press releases will be made ASAP with negotiations on-going with others so its yet more great news and further evidence of exciting times for Leigh Centurions.

Wonder if sean briscoe could be another... as we have no full back for next year yet.
