Who do we think they are. On recent showings Anthony Bate and big Joe Bullock (is that right spelling

) are two that spring to mind. Young Anthony has really grabbed the bull by the horns and looks completely at home in the first team. Joe if he becomes our player has the physique to become another Sam Hopkins. My star - with some good conditioning - is Ryan Duffy. The lad really does try his heart out and made some fantastic hits on thursday. He tries to get back in the line quickly and never takes a backward step. His play the balls are quick and he is still only young. Ryan is my tip to be a Leigh favourate and star.

Quality young player is Duffy...........the new lad Bates is a starting player now IMO - earned his spot.

Whilst I do not disagree with previous posts' thinking ahead' if say Rob Parker and Martin Aspinwall were both fit to play in the NRC Final who would you drop to play them ?

I haven't got a clue Frank. but to have a reserve pack like we have is pretty good. Are there any other pack young guns that I have'nt mentioned coming through?

Agree Ryan tries his heart out but is a massive liability on defence. Once he gets his fitness sorted think we could have a player.

Anthony Bate has earned his place, subs bench at the very least.

I think Ryan's fitness has improved immensely since the start of the season and he really does like to get stuck in, I've been impressed, as I have been with Bate & Bullock, definitely ones to watch.

Unfortunately Bullock is a Wigan player and he played on DR for Soth Wales yesterday

Put a good stint in did Duffy, pleasantly surprised with him.
With the right training could be a very good player at this level without a doubt

Sorry to put a dampener on things but the guy's been with us as far as I'm aware since pre season and doesn't to be any fitter.

Don't get wrong, he does a job and did on Thursday. In the 'modern' game a fit prop who gets long minutes under his belt is invaluable. Two props in Spencer and Hopkins will leave next season, Parker may only fancy another year, good props aren't easy to come by. The opportunity is there for him to shed some pounds and really get stuck in ahead of next season. He's only young for a prop and he's a good prospect, I hope he can realise his potential.

Young Bate looked really impressive, he's really tenacious and to come into that game having only played one first team game and put in a performance like he did was outstanding.

I've been impressed by Duffy (or as my mate calls him "the tank"icon_wink.gif, puts some good hard hits in, never takes a step backwards, and always seems up to put the hard yards in. I think this lads got a lot of potential.

I think Duffy has come on a bunch since the start of the season. I criticised his defence at first but it is now much better.

As for him not being fit he' like the rest of our squad they all train extremely hard.

Don't forget he is only 20 and for a prop that means he is a 'baby' - though I wouldn't want to change any nappies - in prop terms, so he's a bit overweight, I'm sure his head coach will sort any fitness issues he may have, and like Frank says all the squad train hard, I would rather have him with us than against us that's for sure.
