LISA has put in over £350k since it was formed, second only in that period to AT and significantly more than the current shareholders. Would this be happening with a trust run by the fans for the town?

I know you keep banging this drum Mo but quite frankly there have been numerous situations in the past where it's been a prime chance to take advantage, but quite frankly I get the impression that many people are basically past caring.

I think that is the biggest reason for falling gates. The 2 directors don't appear to be doing anything other than keeping the club ticking over. Does anyone feel that they generate any enthusiasm? We urgently need someone with a bit of 'go' about them to sell it to the public etc and Mr Coffey & Mr Freer are not the ones to do it. As these appear to be there for the foreseable future then I can only see many more getting past caring.

Mo I think if you pushed this by organising a meeting you may be surprised by the uptake

Lsv will rent the ground to any tom ,dick or harry so cost it up and lets get a LEIGH RUGBY LEAGUE formed and sell it as a independant club one not trading as wigan reserves.

Jeff , this would NEVER work , we cant make it work now because of the lack of Supporters , you wouldnt get the 1800 needed , and what about the BOD , they just stand to one side ?Who organises the Club ?Or the team ?This is in the realms of Fantasy .

I don't think many people realise that there isn't actually much of a board at the moment of any note and the two guys who are share holding directors and make the final calls from what i can see don't want to be there but are tied by the overdraft etc.

I will tell you now if all the current shareholders were willing to throw all the shares into the pot so to speak without demanding cash or making demands for them I know at least three companies mine included which will support a transparent fan/community owned club.

The fans need to be aware that this or indeed any chances of atracting any serious Financial support hinge on this.

I'm willing to discuss in confidence with anyone intrested in making this happen.

There does seem to be an issue with the motivation of the BoD. Maybe they should just step aside? Why are they 'tied by the overdraft'?

They have acted as guarentured to the banks I think I'm right in saying maybe even have committed funds to it which they don't want to walk away from?

As people have stated why do we need these players when we have our own reserves??????

The club needs a new figure head someone who could rally the fans

A start would be to rip up this agreement it would send out a clear message of intent that this club is a independant stand alone club,not wigan reserves

Leigh Centurions is a stand alone independent club with its own heritage and history own fan base (albeit small one) and own structures and stadium, facilities etc.

I agree the club needs new direction new ownership ( ideally part if not owned outright by the community) but the deal shirt term with Wigan shouldn't really be as big a problem as it is being made out to be on here IMO.

Take away the fact that it's Wigan and it really isn't much different to what's been happening last couple of years with wire, saints and also the pies anyway.
