I have uploaded the Swinton game to a file sharing site.
Follow the link below
www.storageserver.co.uk/files/65 ... n.flv.html
and press 'Download file' note **** not DOWNLOAD*******
you will need a .FLV player of which VLC Media player is the one I use, if that be the case then the DOWNLOAD button will take you to the VLC media player website, the vswinton.flv file WILL NOT play in windows media.
All I ask is that after downloading and playing the file you e mail me (as below) the answers to the following.
1. Length of time to actually download the file.
2. What media player you used to view it in
3. Rate the quality of picture from 1 - 5 (1 being very poor 2 poor 3 watchable 4 good 5 very good)
4. Rate the sound quality (perhaps unfair for this one as I had a switch turned on which over fed the crowd noise) using the 1 - 5 system as above.

3. Rate the quality of picture from 1 - 5 (1 being very poor 2 poor 3 watchable 4 good 5 very good) =#FF0000= 3 (as mentioned already, large black border around video)
4. Rate the sound quality (perhaps unfair for this one as I had a switch turned on which over fed the crowd noise) using the 1 - 5 system as above. =#FF0000= 4

The border was because of the size of the picture I will try a larger size with my next experiment - though that is the size I upload them to youTUBE
Frank follow the instructions, look in your downloads file (if its not there type swinton in a search) click on the file if it does not open you will have to download a flv player - google free flv player download install and open then click the swinton file again.

Just an ask - what is it Fev uses different to you as it seems a lot better quality - you can distinguish faces of players better and the quality seems overall better

A £3k HD camera for a start.
HD uploaded to YouTUBE is far less compressesd a typical game would be around 1.5GB whilst my upload to is around 300MB, thats why the DVD are better quality uploads to youtube take me around 12mins instead of the approx 45 it would take to upload a larger file but as I film in digital and not HD the picture is not as good anyway raw AVI from the camera on a game is around 6GB and compressed to around 3.7GB to fit onto a DVD in HD raw would be around 9GB. (all approx's of course).

Don't confuse streaming with downloads though Jonny, streaming has to be ATM worse as it's like trying to get a rope through the eye of a needle due to bandwidth etc.. where as downloading is just that you download the entire file to play at your own pace and time, If we had a decent internet connection from the gantry I would try streaming a game but alas.
Wigan have spent £250K on servers and equipment etc.. I'm trying to provide a similiar service on virtually £zero but I need the help of people on here to judge the product.
I will be doing the same thing with the Wigan game later on this evening or some time Wed and again I will ask peoples assistance.
