| Rugby papers today are completelyslamming the new SL academy proposals. No U23's no 20's only U19's and U16's. Championship clubs couldbe playing with up to 10 superleague players. This destroys the integrity of the championships. Threechamp sides apparently already signed up to this and the two hull sides will have one academy between them. Absolute joke imo.
If the champ clubs do not put a stop to this now our game is dead and the championship becomes an even more pointless excercise.

| Mr Chairman, why should championship clubs subsidise SL youth development. The RFL monies for next season are also being reduced. The end result is we fall another 10 years behind the NRL and we will also end up watching more aussies over here as "there isn'tthe quality coming through"

| Why don't the RFL limit the number of players pro clubs can have on their books ?
NonRelegation clubs keeping unlimited numbers on their register then loaning those players to Championship clubs' thus reducing their own costs and being able to call a player back at any time is just plain stupidity on the RFL's part.
It is about time we had a clear out at the top of the RFL because since the appointment of Mr Failure Lewis our game has been in decline.
Thank heaven he has gone. Lets hope he gets on the Wigan board of directors.(only joking Pie fans).
Championship clubs must get together and tell the RFL that this ridiculous experiment must end before it is started and scrap licenscing too.

Derek the Championships clubs are NOT being forced to take these young SL players on , it will be their choice , as ive said before , if we all wait , then next season around 100-150 players will find themselves on the open market , and it could work to our advantage .
Also after seeing we at Leigh have nearly completed our signings for next season , why would we then want to bring in around 6 SL players , wouldnt be good for team morale , it will be interesting to see the developments over the next few months .

| As charlie says lets hope we don't need any dual reg players next season, or if we do it's no more than we have had this season.

| The point is the ones that don't are playing against teams that do with 6/8 or more SL player. They can then spend the money they have on slightly smaller squads and thus better players. It removes the level playing field that the championship had finally become. Clearly the RFL are still pulling the wool over some peoples eyes.

| Bit of a difference between 4 and 10 Keith. So tell me what are 100-150 20-22 year olds going to do next season. 4 keeps it just under the banner of a loan system. 10 makes it the SL teams reserves.

| Would like to see a united front of the real teams in the Championship meeting and releasing a statement showing a united front in this matter, scuppering the RFL plans.
This is an obvious way for the 'new' teams to be competitive and keep a team on the paddock thus lasting the season in C1.

| Another reason why this is detrimental to the Championship is that Hunslet will become known as Leeds Reserves and if you are presently a Hunslet supporter that won't make you happy.
Now if you are young and living in Hunslet' and got interested in RL who would you follow Leeds Rhinos or Leeds Rhinos Reserves ?

| Rumour has it that the pies applied to run a 2nd team in Ch1, as somewhere to operate their Academy from, but this was rejected. They are now heavily involved in South Wales Scorpions - so got their wish via the back door!!
Feeder clubs will be the final nail in the coffin for the game outside SDL!!

South Wales is a long way for their youngsters to travel Walt, don't think they will like all that traveling.

| The move to feeder clubs was always on the cards and it stinks.
I don't know what's wrong with the current system, or the arguments for and against but u20s and up to 4 d/rs was a good system

| Quote ="mr. chairman"Whats wrong with them coming back into the amateur game from whence they came. That's what it's meant to do . I have never been a supporter of the dual reg players but if the Rfl continue with the elitism programme in its present form then the junior clubs will die and that will hurt the whole of RL. Sorry but you seem to not bother about everything under championship just like SL does to you'"
I`ve no doubt any Leyther has a problem with these players returning to the Amateur game but to say we as a Championship club( fan I hasten to add) are uninterested in any league below us is way off the mark.

| The D/C has benefited Leyth for the last 3 years but also had a downside. It does appear to favour the SL D/Cs by providing better opposition than they would`ve encountered in their Academy set ups.
Here`s hoping that the Championship clubs show some solidarity and as you say utilise a season long loan as opposed to D/C.

| I can see the negatives in the d/r system but it's better than the season long loan one imo. I think a better standard of player is traded under the d/r system and the benefits outweigh the negatives. It should be limited to 3 per club though and be a luxury rather than a necessity

| Keith, is the summer move a mistake? Seems results are all over the place depending on who is available due to work/holidays which is more of a problem in Summer imo.
We need a pyramid at Leigh. East/Miners/Golborne/Rep from Rest working closely with LRLFC for the good of RL in the area - we will only grow together.

| Dont think it will really affect leigh, can only be a good thing if 3/4 fringe super league players from warrington & wigan are playing for leigh like they have done this year. Is there a reserve or academy league for championship clubs next year? If not what are players from the lesser championship clubs going to do if they are not playing because their sides are being flooded with young lads from super league sides? Do they go play for there amateur clubs? Or do they turn there back on playing amateur because there not getting paid?

I think a lot of players from the champ teams will be lost to rl afterall how can it be a level playing field when 1 is f/t and the other as to do a 40/50 hr wk and then fit training and playing in as well, rl is a joke at the moment
