| I came across [url=http://www.redvee.net/readarticle.php?article_id=1205this article[/url last week and I've been meaning to share it because;
1. I think it sums up my feelings about today's game.
2. I think it's interesting that the author is a fan of arguably the most successful team in the SL era.
What I found surprising was [url=http://www.redvee.net/forums/showthread.php?22131-MERGED-The-State-of-the-Game-Threadthis reaction[/url on the website's forum. In a strange kind of way, I found it refreshing to see that fans who are becoming disenfranchised with the game, aren't limited to clubs on the outside of SL looking in, which is the perception I definitely get on RLFans.
What I didn't find surprising was [url=http://www.totalrl.com/forums/index.php/topic/231429-the-state-of-rl-nostalgia-or-accurate/this reaction[/url on TotalRL where the self-imposed guardians of the game are more willing to resort to personal insults and character assassinations to have everyone believe that all is well in Rugby League, rather than discuss some very valid points.
Anyway, enough about the characteristics of various internet RL forums, I'd rather discuss the topic in the first article. Does anyone else, like me, feel that the author has it spot on? Or does nostalgia cloud peoples judgement on what the game really used to be like?

| Read as much as I can (should be working but as it's not Leyther Matt's car it does not matter ) and will read it in detail tonight - but as first impression this guy needs to be running the RFL or a least an advisory I too think he has his finger 'firmly on the pulse'

| Well it amounts to this. The 10 metre rule should be scapped. Expansion at the expense of heartland clubs isn't sustainable AND franchising/licenscing is ludicrous for a pro contact sport in this country.

| It is just so knowledgeable and thought provoking.
A very clever person who should be running the sport.

| Sounds like a fan of a team that is not winning any pots anymore to me. Man U fans will go the same way very soon.

| No idea but just to make you smile being a died in the wool flatcapper' I don't agree with all his observations either.
And as Sky sports is free tonight I have decided to watch Cats v Stains even though Star Trek Voyager has just started.
