My guess would be that as the Manchester derby was originally scheduled for Sunday at 4pm and to avoid any clash they went for 2pm instead of 3pm. Obviously its been moved to the Monday Night Football slot since then.

The City game was switched months ago and the Challenge Cup draw was last week so i don't think that this is the reason.

Maybe because it works for Swinton, Leigh thought they'd give it a try?

By what definition does it 'work' for Swinton? I'm not particularly bothered either way, but I'd have thought an earlier kick off may inconvenience more people than it attracts (thinking in terms of those who have junior games in the morning etc).

I know at least 6 who cannot make it due to it being early.
We work till 1.00 so no chance of getting there, 3.00 was achievable.
Unfortunately you can't please everyone. I'll be listening on radio instead.
Its a real shame as I would have had a great day win or lose.
