I am pretty sure Laithwaite is in on Thurs and that is important. We need either him with Goulden and Taylor or Littler. As I think he'll be involved, we can leave Littler at centre. Slight tinkering with the Leigh back row, so that it does not involve one of these combinations, will be detrimental to us IMO. We attacked well on Sunday, but we did look slightly more vulnerable in defence again at times. Laithwaite's return should help us out in that department, coupled with starting with Duffs at 9. Once again, in order to win, we need to get the starting pack right along with our 1,6,7,9 and 13. McNally, Brierley and Riddy seem to have a good understanding. They bombed a few on Sunday, but the signs looked VERY encouraging. I really hope Taylor is fit to play 13, as this will obviously help us start with solid foundations and tighten up our defence.

Brierley for me has to start, you could see as game went on Sunday he was getting more confident , talking alot more and directing the play and him being in the for me gives the likes of riddy the confidence that he knows if he makes a break Brierley will be supporting him

Agreed. Riddy, Brierley and McNally could be a superb trio for Leigh.

According to the preview Bibey and Taylor touch and go for Thurs and Duffy absent. Says Bibey and Taylor picked up minor knocks, but nothing too serious. We shall see. Wouldn't be surprised to see all 3 run out. Hope so.

I have left out McNally because he got a bad knock on sunday and i think a rest will keep him fresh for other important games coming up.Also left out Nicholson and Briscoe due to the fact that we have a small squad and we need to keep rotating players when we can.Its a short turn around from sunday and Russell and Laithwaite did not play at the weekend,so should be fit and itching to get a game.
Also i dont think you can have,Duffy,Beswick,Nicholson and Brierley all in the starting 17.The back 3 of Goulden,Laithwaite and Taylor are all grafters and get through a huge amount of tackles,its not hard to see that when those 3 are on the pitch our defense has improved,from what is was like versus Batley and Fev.

I wouldn't change a thing from Sunday, if possible. Obviously if there's doubts use what's best available. I'd give Duffy another week off and bring him in for the cup game.

If Duffy,Bibey and Taylor are missing I`d go......(dont think we`ll see Shaw or Russell either)

If by some miracle Russell is available drop Clay and put him on the bench.

Brierley says he's on the bench tomorrow folks, so I suppose we will be back to having an ageing halfback/loose forward/9 on then at scrum half ie Duffy or Beswick. Oh joy!

I reckon he'll start with Beswick at 7, and Nicholson at 9, then replace Beswick with Brierley, and eventually Nicholson with Beswick.

Well I will wait and see.

Fingers crossed. I would like to think Russell would be available. That being the case maybe Riddy to scrum half and Russell stand off if Ryan is indeed on the bench.

On the other hand maybe McNally to start at 7 Russell/Pownall wing or fullback.

PR will want us to win as much as me or you.

If Ryan starts tomorrow I fear he could be battered all over the pitch by 30 mins.
Better to start with someone who has been around the block a few times...

I agree with this .I would also say the same for one or two of the other younger lads who have also been good for us so far this season

I want to win the game, so as long as that happens , I dont care who starts. Although Ryan must play a part, but bringing him on when people are tiring is our secret weapon.
