Brierly to start at 7? Would be hard not to start him after yesterdays performance really. If Duffy is still injured I'd go with the same halfback and hooking combo's as yesterday. If he's fit I'd move Beswick to loose forward and let duffs rotate at hooker with Nico.

Laithwaite will defo be involved on thurs and would not surprise me to see Russell in the 17 also, like mentioned really really tough calls for rowls this week. Poss line up as below ???

A fully fit duffy brings other options to our attack and his defence is good, but we're all entitled to an opinion.

If Duffy is fit then I'm afraid Nico would have to miss out. Rotate Duffs and Beswick at 9, with Ridyard and Brierley at 6 and 7 again.

Agree with starting 13.....bench for me should be - Beswick,Hopkins,Gallagher, tough for last spot between Pownall and Beiscoe (think Briscoe may miss out.

Very tough for Rowls to select after Sunday and a bit crappy on who misses out IMO.

I wouldn't mind resting some of the younger players and maybe 1 or 2 key players on thursday,play the DCs if we have them and anyone who might be coming back from injury

Need to put our strongest team out on Thursday, but do we play the duels as we need the team to bond against Fax that we will be using in the CC.....duels or no duels thats the question.

I think including Russell would do more harm than good, if indeed he is available. Nowt to say that Wire won't allow us to play Laithwaite as I doubt they've any plans to include him in their side in the latter stages.

I think if there's any doubt about McNally (he had a rough time of it all round, yesterday) and Taylor, we shouldn't risk them. I'm sure Laithwaite will be available - he was watching yesterday - and tempted as I would be to put Russell in for McNally, for this match, an alternative would be to give Pownall a game in 'his position' of full back and give Adam Clay a run on the wing.

I agree with you there Alan & it would nice to see Pownall in his natural position at FB & give Clay a run out on't wing. Hopefully Jonny has a better experiance at FB since his last game there ouch LoL I have to say although Ostick probably isn't going to get player of the season award & I had my doubts his work rate & effort is good & better than expected so you can't ask any more than that.

This will be the match for Michael Ostick to stand up and put himself about in a tough competative game. I hope he does. For me this game will definitely tell me wether we need a new stand off also. Both these players need to bring their A game to the table on thursday.

I think your being a bit harsh on Riddy IMO he seems to be getting back to his form he's playing better than he has in previous games

I would keep most of the same team that beat Rochdale on Thursday maybe bring in Duffy on the bench if fit and Laithwaite for Bristow or Taylor if he isn't fit

Agree. Last season he always had Ellis as his partner and took to Ellis's style of play.

Keeping Ryan at scrum half and they would develop an understanding imo
and I think as the game went on that showed.

I realise Hornets were understrength and their defence was poor but teams have to play what is in front of them.

Thursday should we start with Ryan I think their forwards will target him but I think Ryan will cope and be better for it.

Everytime he gets the ball he certainly lifts the mood.
