As a lifelong Leigh fan it pains me to say it but to compete at the highest level we must succumb to the system and to tick the correct boxes. We need a coach to take us to the next level, sentiment aside our town and club deserve a chance at Superleague. Superleague comes at a price and that is joining the RL mafia, the same one that has seen Cas, Salford and Wakey remain at the top table.

Rowley is a great lad and Leigh through and through but never a superleague coach, we need someone respected, someone who has done it before. John Kear at Batley? Just think what he could have done at Leigh?

Brian Noble is available, proven and most importantly well respected in the game.

Time to take action and really build for a future in the top level, my kids can't get excited about watching local derbies against Rochdale and Swinton.

We have such good local amateur clubs why should we loose our players to other local towns? Come on Leythers just think where we could be.........

Cheque book I don't care, it was cheaper last week to watch Man City than Leigh, something is not quite right........Amateur rugby or world class football how are we to compete languishing in the Championship? What would future generations choose?

It was cheap because you are a very wealthy club at City. I'm affraid Leigh aren't. When we get an owner who is the ruler or son of a ruler of an oil rich country then we can look forword to a fiver a game tickets, but we don't.

Charge a fiver a game, give free tickets to all the local school kids with one paying adult and make sure their is enough food and beer to satisfy demand. Or we could just have a small club mentality with no ambition but we can always find a seat when we play Batley.......

what they fail to grasp is we are in a world market to compete for money from fans and like you point out its cheaper to watch what some would consider a stronger product than leigh in its going no where league

I agree Walt , in a perfect world it would be easy to sort out our problems , but unfortunatly we dont live there yet .

Charlie is very concerned though with what is happening at our beloved club , i hope things start to change for the better very soon .

I honestly do not think so. When I am in Leigh I big the club up but it makes little difference.

Like others' on my way back to the bus station I am always asked how we went on but I am beginning to think it is out of politeness rather than a genuine interest.

The future has got to be the kids of our town (I obviously include Bent Bongs Lowton and Astley) and I applaud our fans who were in Tescos yesterday.

Oh you never know if the RFL decided to scrap licensing/franchises that might make a difference. We now have "Superleague" where the bottom 4 teams are known before the first ball of the season is kicked off.

Well John it has been stated in the past , that 1800 is our break even target crowd wise , so have lost money already this season , and though many on this Forum are die-hards others will not be attracted back after reading reports of our recent performances , that worries me .
