It's better then the Willows but not impressed with Salford new ground, how long before someone having a wee or getting a beer gets hit by a ball!!!!

They've got one really big stand which would look alright if it wasn't in the same ground as 3 tiny stands which wouldn't look out of place at a lower league football ground!

The Willows was miles better for me, there are few stands in RL where you could get such a good view as on the North Stand there.

We had a good tour round the main stand whilst they were trying to find out where we should be going and it's very nice in there and absolutely huge!! (And then we had to climb up one of those metal ladder type things to get to the gantry - just weird).

However, I thought the other stands looked like a bit of an afterthought, they didn't really match and looked as though they'd run out of money and scrabbled together something that 'would do'.

LSV for me - it's a lovely neat little stadium.

Aye I agree there. The original plan for years was to have a 20,000 capacity stadium, which looked great going off the computer drawings etc. But when Red City Developments went pear-shaped, we had to settle for the one we've got now. And then were told we can't stand along the touchline like at The Willows. And then the blue seats. And then getting beat by yous in the first game (absolutely no disrespect, fully deserved win, but very disappointing for us).

If we end up sharing with Sale, it'll probably get expanded to 20k eventually. I've not seen any plans of what it'd look like then.

The East stand at the LSV is a dedicated TV Gantry, and it has a couple of lifts to also provide a platform for wheelchairs.

Seems like saleford have tried to put it all in the main stand, to try to make it look impressive.
It was said when the LSV was built that it is the blueprint for future stadia, seems like peel holdings weren't listening.
We have Desso Grassmaster pitch, undersoil heating, high def floodlights to name a few.
Barton doesn't boast
any of this, and neither does Langtree Park for that matter!

From the outside the Main stand looks impressive , but other than that its just 3 sheds with terracing, opposite the main stand , the seated fans will get wet when it rains ,ive seen better electronics on Watches than the score board , i can see this ground staging Internationals like the LSV.

but i justfeel your New Ground needs more improvements ,as for your team , dont be to Downhearted, i think you will get much better , when you get a Full team out .

No closet about it mate! Leigh's always been my 'second team' and the way you played for the majority of last season, and particularly yesterday, has only impressed (and entertained) me more. As I've said elsewhere, I watched more Championship RL last year than SL and expect the same to be true this year.

You can definitely see where all the money has gone in that stadium. The main stand and it's corporate facilities are very plush. I saw private boxes, a massive function room (at least double the length of our big room, if not more) and even a private lounge with a couple of tables and it's own bar. Like I said in an earlier post, it's huge, and there was more staff than you could shake a stick at. They were everywhere, including one woman we spoke to who's job appeared to be to just stand outside the security room. It will cost a fortune to staff it at that level, I hope they can make it pay because other than that, I don't think it has a lot going for it.

The ' massive ' function room holds 750 apparently, wether theyll ever fill it after selling the 12 , 10 seater private boxes is another thing

We had to walk through it to get to the security room and considering it was the first game, I would say that less than half the room was set out for tables.

I know it was 'only a friendly', and it was 'only Championship' opposition, but I would have thought that Salford must have been extremely disappointed with an attendance of 2,800 for a stadium opener?

Apparently when their resereves played there previously thre was more on.
Im sure we got about 5000 as our ramp up game with them did'nt we?

Since seen that it was actually 2,100 not the 2,800 previously mentioned.

The first game at the LSV had a crowd of 4,700 if memory serves me right.

Thats a shocking att considering we took 3/4 hundred.
I hope for there sake they get the maximum att when wigan turn up or i will start to fear for them after this season.
