I spoke to Christine in the ticket office just before Christmas, she told me the tickets for Salford game had arrived but hadnt been checked or sorted and they would only be going on sale from Tuesday 3 January, just a few days before the actual game.
The main interest will be to see how our re-built, coach-less team fare against a Super League side. The second point of interest will be looking, and forming an opinion about the new ground.
The last point of interest will be the new stadium car park. Has anyone booked a car park ticket - according to their web site it will have cost £5, plus a 50p booking fee, plus postage. Their site says "Car Parking passes cannot be obtained on the day" Sounds like it will be chaos on Saturday, any views ? ?

What part of Paul Rowley and Neil Jukes has been coaching the team do you require explaining?

l have booked on carpark £5 AND 30p booking fee.4 of us going so dont think it's too bad and dont fancy busing it from Trafford

They've replaced Basil in the short term. The fact a permanent replacement hasn't been appointed isn't Paul or Neil's fault and I'm sure they're doing the job to the besst of their abilities.

The coaching thing is fast becoming a complete farce IMHO.

If the visa takes another few week then it takes a few week. At least we will know if rowley and Neil are capable of coaching... If we get mauled I will be worried

it was a farce when they announced at the forum 4 months ago that an aussie and a newzelander were coming over here and battling it out for the job,in fact i think thats why so little has been said about it.

Also at the ticket office are details of the Trafford centre ' park and ride ' to the Salford City Stadium

I called in today to check on the parking for the coach which should be OK , they asked me to drop some leaflets off at the LSV for anybody going in cars that havent booked a parking place

Interestingly , the ticket office at Barton wasn't open

, the young lady on reception did say that on Saturday the small ' Cash only ' Ticket office in the north stand ' Us ' should be open to sell us tickets to that stand

Also the stadium isn't signposted and isn't in clear site from the road off the M 60 , however after passing the large ' Skip ' sign you turn left at the traffic lights

Coming from the M60.When your going down the Irlam Rd turn left at the lights straight after the Refuse depot. If you see the windsock for Barton Airport on the right then you have past it and will need to turn around.

That's quite OK anything to assist.

That's why we have now advertised for a General Manager and NOT a head coach because the two favoured applicants for the head coaches job have not the required paperwork to coach in this country, so Rowley and Jukes have been appointed the coaches, sorry if that is hard for certain people to understand but it is a fact, like it or not.

The tickets for the Salford game are now on sale at the LSV , Charlie bought his this afternoon .

Me also Charlie. Had a recce to to see if you could park close without paying £5. The streets opposite the turning where the flats are look a bit dodgey to me. Didn't go any further that the Barton Airfield turning as it would be too far to walk and too dangerous to cross the road. Didn't see a pub close by either.

There are the usual concourses in the stands like at the LSV but there isn't a Legends Bar type place.

Phoned Salford ticket office today and was told there'll be no cash sales on Saturday. They are expecting a sellout!! i.e. 4500! Apparently we are guinea pigs in their health and safety assessment for the Super League season. Maybe we should all have been given free tickets then to fill our stand?

The pre-booked car parking is also only a trial. If all the spaces aren't pre-sold before Saturday she said there may be some cash sales - still a fiver, or take your chance and park nearby!

4500? I thought it was announced originally as 5800, then I saw it at 5000...now 4500? I guess the stadium is not as ready as they would like.

There are but they haven't put a shelf up yet to put your pint on while eating your pie. I would also be prepared for not being allowed to take your beer to the stand as at the back of the stand it is open and anyhting tossed over the back will land in the toilets or the serving area under the stand. Only going off posts and pics on the Reds board but thats what it looks like to me.

I rang Leigh today and they said the Leigh tickets are for seating behind the sticks in the North stand.

There is no seating in the north stand! Only standing at both ends

So be prepared for that when you arrive
