| Question as Rugby league fan in general....
Are we too quick to Judge ?
When a team is at the top of its game/league as Fev and Leigh have been all season there is unfortunately only one way to go for one of those teams when they meet, and that is down.
BUT what amazes me and im guilty of it too sometimes is how quickly some people start to look for people to blame. That is a natural reaction I guess in some circumstances but we should possibly have a reality check and look at the whole seasons efforts..Leigh have done a superb job so far and it is far from over. In a contest like last nights there are no loosers that walk from a rugby pitch lets not forget these guys give blood sweat and tears..
And I know before somebody jumps on and starts the " we pay the wages we are entitled to our opinion slant" im not disputing that I just wonder if sometimes we let passion cloud our judgement at times..
a slight observation as well if I may leythers, you guys do seem to like to beat yourselves up a bit..
rant over

| We didn't look right last night, we allowed far too much space, you worked the ref and out played us.
We will find out next week if it was a blip, can't wait now.

| All top sides can have a bad day at the office... Just be glad when it's not in a 'must win' game.

| Have to say that last night I was appalled at some of the comments I heard during and after the game ?
We lost our 3 rd match in 29 , to a better team on the night , Fev came out all guns blazing and had us chasing the game from that point on
Other than Fev,Fax and Barrow we'd have still won against any other team , there were a couple of things , we need to learn how to play knock out RL again , I called for us to take the two points on offer when the score was 12-4 , when playing uphill in ten first half you don't turn any easy points away , with the time left it was a case of keeping the margin tight and getting to half time , as it was we ended up 14 points behind , when it could easily have been 6
Fev blew the GF last year by being to adventurous , they had a good lead on Fax and had opportunity to make it a four score advantage , they didn't take it and that cost them the match in the end , they didn't make that mistake last night
We were slow out of the blocks and ended up having to chase the game to the point we were making too many mistakes both in attack and defence ,
We can still make the GF , and then it's all square again , it won't be easy but it still can be done
But some of the criticism last night was absolutely ridiculous

| I'd say normally we are too quick to judge in all sports , having said that last nights display by Leigh was one hell of a slump from what we've played like all season (with the exception of one game v Halifax) so its understandable people are asking questions about such a performance.
Hopefully our showing last night was a one off.

| We have lost 3 games in all competitions this season I know, impressive stuff !!!
BUT our last 'Top performance' was our win at Batley on July 7th. BIG wins at Hunslet and at home to York since then, we are not performing like a team that only lost 1 league game all season, unlike yourselves, who are rampant at the moment. When was your last 'close game' the Batley (a) game on Sky ?
Agreed some reactions from Leythers have been OTT !!!

| I agree with all that 'cushler' and 'Starbug' have said on this. Featherstone did a very good job on us and you have to credit them for that. Our 'easy' run in at the end of the season hasn't helped us, and when we came up against an excellent team, we were caught out.
That's why I think an extra, high-intensity' game on Thursday will actually help us - so long as we win it! I game in 25 days, prior to last Thursday wasn't ideal preparation.
The trick, if we get to the GF, is to give Fev something to think about, like they did to us, in the first ten minutes.

| What was really getting to me was than when in defence we moved up 5 yards then stopped this is what gave them the space to run side ways and catch us out on the flanks. It's no use blaming Deanos defence when he is out numbered. If he had stayed out wide there would have big holes in the middle then who would we blame? I thought other than this and a few brain farts we didn't do that bad. We never got in their faces from the start and gave them way too much room. A hungry quick defence and that game would have been a lot closer.

Ian's philosophy has always been to not bother too much about the opposition, but to get our act together, and give the opposition plenty to worry about. Unfortunately Fev did that to us, before we got a chance to impose ourselves on them.

| Our records are essentially identical now , we have both lost away to each other , drawn with each other , lost at home to Fax and both lost in the Challenge cup to a SL club
Still 3 more quality exciting games in the Championship to go yet

| Leighs performance was passive last night. More intensity needed, especially in the forward in which we were out enthused.
Featherstone is a daunting place to play rugby at the best of times. Serious injury put me to the sword there !
I really hope Sheffield be Fax. If not, I really don't fancy our chances as our defence out wide was quite shocking on Thursday.
I will keep the faith though !!

| Agree......Rovers won cos they outplayed us on the night......lets look forward to Thursday night as I can see Sheff and Fax knocking 10 bells out of each other today to win.
I`m still confident of us getting to the GF and winning it.

| Simple answer - YES
I echo Leyther Jays sentiments and particularly Maurices from another thread.
Starbugs summonning up was spot on (probably because it was the same opinion as mine )
Bring on Thursday
