And now I've calmed down and the emotion of the moment has receded, I can dispassionately say "well done"!!

Leigh and Fax are big game teams - the evidence so far would suggest that Featherstone aren't!!

I too would like to add my thanks to the Leigh fans and Fax fans for their part in what was a fantastic weekend . Everybody got on well together and during and after the match the comerarderie between the sides was fantastic.
The differance between this final which both sets of fans enjoyed and last years final which Fax had to endure was unbelievable. Both sets of fans were a credit to rugby league yesterday and as I left the ground I felt perfectly safe (which was not the case at the Warrington final)and saw many Fax fans waiting to shake the hands of the Leigh fans when they eventually came out of the stadium. I felt nothing but pride for the Fax and Leigh fans over all the weekend .
Rugby League was the winner yesterday along with Leigh , I am sorry we did not win but to tell you the truth I would have traded the win last year for the health of David Singer but doubt the outcome would be differant even if we had lost .
Good luck in the rest of the season and hope you come top of the league (for obvious reasons) and hope to meet you in the next final.

There are so many variables though , spoke to Martin Ridyards dad just after the final whistle , he said he was shouting for Martin to go for the drop goal , and when he threw the dummy shouted " What the bloody hell are you doing ? " or some such remark , then he sets up the winner

Now we know how you must have felt having had Fax rip out your pounding heart with last minute slam dunks - twice! I can tell by your post it hurts.

But you know as well as I why I am at odds with Fax! I've seen Fev lose bigger games in the past and I will see us lose again! Results like the ones v Fax recently, hurt a great deal at the time, but you get over them!

Leigh by all accounts played a blinder yesterday - the main facet being the ability to contain Fax when they were on top and keeping the score within a 'catchable' distance! Fair play to them. It made my afternoon.

I was never comfortable at any stage of the match - even at 10-0 up. And with seconds to go there was a kind of inevitability that Leigh would snatch it. They played a tremendous game.

I have to agree with littlerich on that, i felt for all our efforts in the first half that if leigh scored soonish into the second then they would gather momentun and put pressure on FAX, which is exactly what happened and we made too many mistakes second half and was punished. Great game, great day and cant argue the result.
