Brand new extended scholarship starts tonight. 8pm at Leigh Miners Rangers when Leigh's team coached by Stuart Littler and John Duffy take on Hunslet.

Best kept secret finally unveiled ... Several of the successful youngsters from our Reserves will be on show.

Great stuff, well done to all involved, especially Duffy and Littler, giving these lads their experience.

Apparently involved in this extended scholarship are us, Keighley, Hunslet, Oldham, York. Well done to those clubs. Hopefully the season can be extended and we can try and put a full u-18 team into comp next year alongside the likes of Salford, Wigan, Leeds etc...

Workington are also involved.

This one finished 42-10 to the Centurions. Some good performances. John Duffy and Stuart Littler are coaching the side and both were made up at the end. A couple of eye-catching displays. Match report to appear on the official site tomorrow.

Thought Leigh played well last night first game and all. Hope the next three games are from better opposition before next seasons games.

No worries, went anyway! Bit scrappy the game but to be expected I guess for a first run out! Some good signs though for the rest of the series! Moved the ball about well, in spells! Look forward to seeing the other (home) games!

Leighs No15 & No8 were big lads.
15 made a smashing break from near his own try line,Smashed through the defence and made about 60m before they managed to pull him down.

Excellent news that these Championship/Championship One sides are able to run Under 18's.

15 was Connor Partington and he could shift couldn't he? Put himself about and scored a nice try.
8 was Luke Barrett, it was good to see him getting some proper gametime. He's been playing U-23s rugby all season from the bench and went well in the short 16s programme last season.
