I know the ideas have been raised on here a few times about beer tents etc and I think there's definitely something to kick on with after yesterday - did anyone else notice the grassed area directly behind the North Stand had been cut and was in the full sunshine from before the game and all the way until afterwards?

Would be absolutely ideal for beer tent, picnic tables, BBQ, ice cream van etc etc.

Anyone know who owns the land?

why dont we do our own fanzone , see what happens!

I`d have thought the adjacent land was WMBC/LSV. Would they be willing to allow beer tents etc( I personally think it would be a winner) and would nt the Park Inn object to.

Bit of healthy competition from the Park Inn or they could even help out with it somehow.

But are n`t they part of the cartel who set prices?

No EMC set prices at the LSV re food and drink.

They wouldn't be very happy if food and beer were being sold outside the ground would they.I know i wouldn't be.

Well I`ve stopped buying it inside the ground, so onwards and upwards.....More folk should follow suit.

No J.C. and I couldn't see the LSV allowing it neither, there is always Pennington Park or The Country park via the council bods (after all it is election time but then again its probably too late or that), of course if and when the LSV refuse it.

Nowt to stop them shifting a couple of the bored concourse staff in to a tent behind the North Stand to sell cans at £2 a chuck. Still massive profit margins and pricing would be par for the course. Of course, that opens up the question of what LRL would gain from it, which I suppose the answer would be nowt financially but still part of the greater goal of improving the matchday experience and in turn improving attendances.

then again if they are going to run it they will say just go into The Legends bar and take up the offers on in there (if they are still on that is).

Why would anyone want to pay £2 for a can of fosters et al when you can get a pint of stella for £2.50 in the Park Inn.............Now I`m all for supporting my club in many ways but £2 for a warm can of lager..........PAH!!!...

I also buy nothing in the stadium.

As i say, i dont think EMC would be very happy.As a supporter i'd be delighted if the club was aloud to put up a big tent to sell beer.
Bradford had a big tent last season in the CC game selling bitter,lager,cider,guinness etc,i think it would be a cracking money spinner for the club,well worth looking into.

Because in the outdoor area you've got the sun, entertainment etc rather than being sat in a soul-less hotel reception. How about bottles of Stella from a cool box or summat along those lines?


Let EMC run it, as I've mentioned earlier in the thread. They will still make a profit on what they're selling and just need to shift around their staff instead of being stood bored on the concourse when there's no bugger in the ground.

Could leigh harrier get a beer licence and then we could have it there,on the pitch inside the running track.

They`ve got a pretty good patio area at the back of the Park Inn and inside we all watch SKY/ESPN and there`s plenty of Leythers and opposing fans each game.
Now I don`t mind taking my own cool box and then eating from whats on the menu.

The problem is there are quite often events already ongoing at the Harriers on Sunday's. Plus I just think the 'sun trap' behind the North Stand is far too good a location to waste!


No troubles from me, though where are you going to leave your cool box? And don't say the car as you will have been supping Stella all afternoon

Tbh matt i'm a bit underwhelmed with the idea if the club is not making something out of it.

Bradford probably run all catering and beer sales in the ground though?

Can't any organisation apply for an occasional licence though? especially through a pub/club? and the Harriers 'pitch' is looked after by the LSV staff so they would probably not allow that.

As I said earlier, the club might not make any money directly from it but it's all about improving the matchday experience and improving attendances as a result.


I would expect EMC to be allowed to use it as an extension of their licence as it's still on the same site?

But they would. Atmosmphere makes people come back. Being friendly to everyone. Wearing your colours singing Leyth songs getting folk into the "family" making it good prematch.

Then they go in and watch our best side in decades and pass the message on.
