Just heard a snippet on the radio coming into work, hes telling of how he left us after we had won the cup, and the reasons why. Its on tonight, pity Ill miss it, sounds like its going to be gripping stuff.

It was on last Monday too. Sounded like a hasty decision to me.

Wonder how things may have turned out if he'd have stayed...

I remember it well we were not a happy bunch.But he did come back.

All thats History now , we know why he left in 71 ,and again in 82 , its over ,for me not very interesting ,and im a Murph fan .

He's no Leigh Legend in my book.

A great leader, possibly the best 7 ever, and a decent enough man to speak to who won us our 2 major trophies, but the only person to benefit from them long term was AJM.

We were simply a stepping stone for him.

I was told Murph had decided to leave Leigh before the town hall celebrations and his chat with Jack Harding. No prizes for guessing the ex Leigh player who told me.

I thought he was a 'club ambassador' for them the same way he is for us? And, I understand it to be an honoury role at both clubs - he doesn't get paid for it.....just gets to pick and chose games to watch for free!!

Probably the greatest player we ever had (I'm told - I'm not that old), certainly the most successful coach. We've won 4 major honours in 135 years, half of them with AJM at the helm (not including the 2 Lancashire cups, or the best points-scoring team in history that won the second division with the three-quarter line all ending up in the top 10 tryscorers in the whole RL)

To be fair to him, he did kinda hint at the fact that this was his attitude during the GMR interview.

Unfortunately (and I like the guy a lot) he always will look out for number 1, but then again he isn't a supporter and he has had to look after No1 it's just the way he does it sometimes that annoys people (me included).
