Is THE best prop forward outside SL and hes an damn sight better than a lot in that league, i don't think that i have ever seen a player so consistent, today he showed that when he has his head on he does not give away penalties he makes yards every time he touches the ball his defence is spot on and his hands are as good as any. i don't do the who is the best player routine but he is our best player by a country mile and as much as i would be gutted if he didn't play for us i wouldn't begrudge him playing at a higher level!

Totally agree, the lad is class and deserves a shot at SL. He has a proffessional attitude and the skills and determination to go all the way. Worth the enterance fee alone to watch him at work. well done Chris.

Agree 100% he is the best prop in the league and still has his best years ahead of him. SL is surely only a matter of time for Hilly!!

Miracle he plays for us, lets make the most of it and provide some medals for Hilly in 2011

He just oozes class, top marks each and every week and his SL chance is going to come sooner rather than later.

I hope it doesn't come untill the end of the season. Like Ste says I hope he leaves with a couple of medals and stays fit.

I'm a bit loathe to get exited this season after last season but i must say our props look reet good this year.this should help CH to be even better this season.IMO he's carried the pack for to long now.

Like most Leythers I hope Chris does get to play in SL , he `d always be someone who us Leythers would keep tabs on.Top consistent player year on year, it just proves some of the scouting from SL clubs is PP.

I heard a few people knock Bibey today but his workrate was immense he takes up a hell of a lot of ball, so he doesn't break the line all the time but his quick play the balls and physicality cause problems hes a hell of a lot better than people give credit

I rate Bibey, I actually think all of our pack would do a job in Super League. On Chris Hill, I would like to see him play at the top level, preferably at any team other than the pies. Think he's top class.

sorry to disagree jc but watch Brendan Worth this season - he was absolutely awesome at the weekend - the Catalans coach was at the game and must have noted him down as a 'possible' SL material

the guy is just pure class, best forward outside sl imo. But the good thing this season is he will get extra help from the other forwards, like ricky and nash and mills, so we will see an even better hilly, if that's possible. well done chris it is indeed a privledge to watch a great player in a leigh shirt.

Brendan Worth is a quality prop.

Difference is, Hilly is Brittish and younger and in my opinion, pips Worth to the best prop in our division. Worth can't go 80 minutes, Hilly could if asked.

can't argue with that tho' BW has beefed up a bit and seemed to have improved his lay-off game plus his discipline.He was close to joining the Catalans this season and probably would have done if TR had been in place a bit earlier IMO.

Chris from yesterdays stats is expected to have made over 200m yesterday (he had made up to 160m up to half time) his tackle count had not been plotted as yet.

Sorry to talk business but when he goes i really hope the club gets a fair wad for him.

Depends, IF he goes whilst in contract yes they can ask for a fee when his contract expires he is a free agent.

He signed a contract halfway through last season didn't he?

3 year one if I remember correctly, but if there is a SL clause (and TBH if I were his agent then I would have one in) there is the problem

Looking at it from a club point of veiw they would be daft to allow such a clause,it makes no sense.Fetherstone have financed ther youth structures for years to come with the sale of ther prize assets

I undertand that but to keep a player from the 'grasp' of other clubs in their league (most Ch 1 contracts used to have a Championship 'get out' clause too) it's a clause that is usefull especially if you want any chance of keeping your player when contract negotiation time comes around, and TBH Chris' contract was negotiated some months before it came to an end/start so maybe there isn't one in there, but again thinking of the players benefit if I was an agent i'd want either a free or small fee clause.
I remember an ex-coach saying to me that players who he would have liked in his squad but couldn't afford who went to a lower division club he advised to get the get out clause put in their contract, as this was an obvious way he could sign them if the money situation changed at his club and he found he was able to afford them later in the season, devious beggars these coaches
