Any of you that went to the last LISA meeting will know that, I was going to have a quiz night in January, we was going to ask Leigh East, Miners, have a couple of teams from the Club and of course a LISA team.
Well to be honest Ive not been in the right frame of mind to handle sorting it all out and Ive been busy sorting out the messageboard sponserships, away coaches, poker nite etc, as well as working full time!
I would like someone else to sort this out if possible, it would entail booking a venue in the town centre, getting together the teams etc.WELL everything.
I will help , but its too much to sort out all on my self. THANKS LYNDA

If not why does the committee not muck in to organise these events ?

Peter looks after all the finances. keith Helps me when he can.

Just thought it would be nice if someone else did it for a change, the commitee do enough for nothing anyway.

Linda Ive been 'sounded out' by the club on doing a quiz for them thats why I haven't actioned the LISA one as yet, they had a meeting a few weeks ago re events someone from LISA could do with talking to them.
The classroom visit could still be a goer but someone needs to contact Linda @the classroom to sort it out, be quick because the central funding runs out in March and it may have to close, its well worth a visit.

So once again they decide to "steal" our idea!
Why oh why do we bother, I suppose they wont be wanting to have a team in ours, so maybe its better forgeting the quiz nite

Wether we at LISA or the club have a quiz night I will support it and if it makes money for the club we support then I can't see the difference.

But why steal our idea, find one of their own.

Why cant LISA have a quiz night as well ?.

I thought LISA and the club were meant to work together for the greater good?
Maybe they should try talking to each other instead of throwing a paddy?

Thing id you want someone to do it for you, thats why you started this thread as why not leave this to them and take some of the stress off yourself, maybe if the team start performing this season LISA will begin to flourish and get back to something like it used to be.

Either the way i think if you develop a "them and us" attitude it will not help the cause.

They knew we was planning a quiz night so why didnt they aproach us about it. Why is everyone stressing at me. Ive only stated what a think about it, when we did the LEGENDS night we made it a sucess the club copied this and didnt quite manage to get it right IMHO although I attended and enjoyed it.

They may start running the coaches next without telling me

I would suggest a form of dialogue with the club as the idea may have come from a person who didn't know about the LISA quiz - which in all fairness was first planned for last year but never followed up, I remember preparing it all on my laptop for LISA then losing it all when it (the laptop)had to be formatted and that was last November.

It seem to me linda your looking for problems were there are none.

Not at all , its very frustrating thats all, trying to sort out something with no one else willing to actually do anything it would have been sorted out if Id have had people who offered to help me.

Is this not another indication that LISA needs to be more professional?.

It seem obvious your trying to do to on your own,surely there are other people who attend lisa meeting who are capable of organising things and would volunteer?.

I have people who help with the coaches , it just hard getting anyone to help with any events, 2 pages on here and has anyone offered to run the LISA quiz night?

I dont think this MB is the right place to ask for volunteers tbh.

I think you need to get the message out to LISA members that volunteers are needed to help organise the different projects that LISA have on the go at the moment.

DO you have E mail addresses to LISA members so you can wright a message then send it en mess like leigh do when they send e news infomation to everyone.?

I asked all members at the meeting for email address and mobile number, but I ve been given only a handful unfortuantely

If i was you i'd send the message to those people and ask them to please forward it to anyone else they know who are lisa members.

The thing is linda if you've got this information it could help you to find out what people want whether it be poker nights,race nights,quizz nights, etc.

Someone has been in touch and will be contacting the club on LISAs behalf to see whats happening re the quiz and then we will look at the situation then.
