I know it's all squad numbers etc etc, but is it possible to read too much in to Littler being given the number three shirt, Riddy number six and Nash thirteen?

Can't see Nash playing at 13 as that would leave us with only 4 props in Hill, Bibey, Meekin and Thornley. Guess we will find out on the 27th. Less than 3 weeks now til our first friendly

Really looking forward to seeing the younger lads getting some game time this season, especially Ant Nicholson think he'll have a great season and Jonny Pownall perhaps he'll not quite get as much opportunity but certainly one to watch out for. Good luck to all the lads.

Seems as though Nicholson will be a first team regular and rotating with Duffy so we'll see plenty of him. Heard good things about Pownall but I think he might have to wait for his chance.

Number 14 should be retired and given to the Leythers as the teams 14th man on the pitch, then Leythers should all wear number 14 on their back if they get a replica.

Just an idea.

why do people have this facination about numbers on backs of shirts? they have meant nothing in pro rugby since the squad number system started.

I did mention that in the first post but there's obviously a correlation between the 'traditional' shirt numbers and those that have been allocated to the players.

Of topic slightly but as Paul aint playing in the Salford game if Ellis plays brilliant & slots in great with us where does that leave Robbie?

i think ellis and riddy should be given first shot in the halves,robbie would go to hooker with duffy,or even better 'for me' play him at loose forward.i think he's to good not to play him.

I thought that was against HKR? I seem to remember Ant Murray started at hooker but with 15 on his back.

Robbie is definitely too good not to play I agree there J.C. I'd imagine most are wondering what will happen in the halves next season. I think Robbie will play a part in the halves through the season but dependent on how well Anthony does maybe Riddy at times will interchange with Ellis at 6 & Martyn could possibly play as 9 too through periods of the game also. Who knows?
