Football allows everyone, right down to the semi-pro clubs to live the dream and I applaud them for that. I would rather watch paint dry than watch a game of footy but they allow everyone to get to the top. Look at Wigan Athletic, they were always in the Conference League when I was a teenager but now they are in the Premiership. I think that is brilliant that they are allowed to live their dream. It must be brought back to Rugby League. Once great teams like Fev, Fax, Leigh, Workington, Barrow, Oldham, Hunslet, Swinton etc are just being allowed to slowly die. Quins and Crusaders are being artificially supported. It just isn't right and we are all just watching it happen. RFL used to be a family but it is now very divided. The haves and the have nots and how I would love to see SKY pull out and see who survives then.

They get 10's of thousands and sell outs watching the bigger clubs chasing promotion. What did we used to get? Now you can compare and realise your flaw.
If the interest was there, like there is in football we would still have the old system.

I couldn't care less about SL. Frankly it is very boring keep going on about it. You are probably one of those that spread it to everyone about how corrupt the game is etc etc....and oh of course that we had comparable crowds to football with promotion and it got scrapped because of the conspiracy against us. Damaging the club with your negative comments.
Its been done to death this debate just get used to it and be a supporter instead. Just like when you admitted being a supporter of a amateur team that has no hope of climbing the league ladder, but you still enjoyed watching the sport.

Again I am just stating the obvious. SL is killing the game via the back door and no-one at any Champ club is bothered to do anything about it and it will be dead below SL in a few short years. Totally agree. Franchising, licensing or whatever you want to call it is a cop out so the big boys can slap each other on the back. The arguments against P&R were simple to cure by a few changes in the transfer system and better management at club level. Richard Lewis will long be remembered as the man who killed RL!

I suppose it depends where you are looking, as far I as can see RL is alive and well all over the country. Admittedly some places are in better health than others but overall the game is growing.

...........amongst the best fan's anywhere but the fanbase is too small to change the club's fortunes and is slowly being whittled down yearly. Not a scrap of good mocking crowd figures at other clubs when the NRC semi final and the Play off game failed to bring in a combined total of 3500 to the LSV.

Just checked my own sums there......10 lge games + 1 Play Off, 2 NRC group games + 1 knock out, 1 Chall.Cup and 2 PSF's = 17 games.............aprox 35,000 - 40,000 fans per season including concessions, freebies etc.......how can you seriously run a professional sport on that sort of income ??

We have a fragmented season were at time's we go week's (seem's like months) with just the odd game which can be switched at a moments notice for TV or any variety of reasons these day's...........basically clubs are just guaranteed 12 game's in a year, the rest is down to who you fix up to play you in PSF's and luck in cup draws then hope your good enough to get a placing high enough for a home play off game or 2 (not talking Leigh here of course ! lol )........ Submit this as a business plan you'd be shown the door very quickly and laughed out the bank.

Latics and Blackburn (and Blackpool this season) are the poorer supported clubs and they still dwarf anything that most other clubs in RL gets - again with or without P&R, and paying more to get in too.
As for the expansion clubs - if you want the game to grow and the number of people playing and watching the game to grow together with looking more attractive for getting outside sponsors and investors then too right I support this.

Blackburn give away tickets and still cant get 18K home fans!! Sport in general is struggling in the UK. Taking away the dream in RL is not doing ANYBODY any favours!!
