I've just come across some old negatives that have been tucked away amongst my stuff and I need some help with identification. I know they must all be in the Championship winning season because the negs have the team photos with the cups - there's quite a few like this but I like this one with Woody sticking his tongue out.





Anyway, the first one that has me puzzled is this one. At first look I thought there were only Leigh players in the photo, but you can see the other team in the dark socks - who were they, and how come they were allowed to play in similar strip?

Does anyone know who this team is? If I zoom in it looks a little like the Castleford crest but I'm only guessing.

Is this team Featherstone?

What strip did Wigan play in, in those days? Could the hoops not be Wigan?

Thanks everyone, I'm sorry, some of them aren't in great condition and I've had to do a bit of work on them because they were very dark. There's about 50 altogether, but probably 40 decent pics so I'll let you know when I've posted them all.

Looks to me that Leigh are the ones in the dark socks as they're the plain sleeves rather than with hoops. Looking at the other picture, I think Halifax is a good shout.
