In Todays MEN hes touting Millward for every available job in SL, i'm not stupid enough not to know that this is likely but does it need one of our own advertising it?

Club Ambassador, isn't he? And I completely agree that he shouldn't be touting our coach for every job that's going.

I was sat with Alex murphy recently in the Banqueting Suite before the Widnes game....and yes, he is doing work as a club ambassador. He was good enough to show me around the LSV facilties and introduce me to quite a few people around the club. He was also great company which made for a very enjoyable day out all round.

The article looks like it is stating the obvious...Ian is doing a great job and with possible SL vacancies next year is likely to feature in clubs' minds.
As a club we have to make the most of Ian's time here and be confident that we have a lot to offer anyone that makes Rugby League their profession.

I know its stating the obvious and yes i do think other clubs would be looking at him but do we still need to advertise him ourselves?

I'm afraid this sort of speculation is 'normal' for our 'little' club! If we have a player or coach who is talented or, doing a good job, then invariably they are linked with other 'bigger' clubs! Murph has personally left us for 'Greener Pastures' on three occasions. Millward has already done this once so, he's currently two behind Murph!

Maybe if 5000 people in and around the towns of Leigh came and watched our club, just maybe Ian wouldnt even consider leaving as he would have the potential to achieve everything at Leigh, now theres a thought??

In which case Murph should be persuading people to do just that, rather than trying to find a new home for our coach.

Well if you want 3000 there every week, someone at the club needs to have a good talk to Red Hall. We need to play at home every other week on the same day. We need a regular time to kick off. For good gates we also need home derbies at Bank Holidays not away in France. We put up with these fixtures year in and year out and then moan about the crowds, or start to try and increase crowds by working around the obstacles. It needs to start at the top.

Can't be done. The LSV pitch needs to be resurfaced in summer hence we have to have around 4 weeks when we don't play on it. As for AJM advertising our coach...results on the pitch do that. We don't need him to 'sell' IM to other clubs, or is he on commision?

Millward is on a 3 year contract so if he leaves for another club they would have to pay the remainder of his contract & although we don't want him gone in a small consolation the club would recieve a large chunk of money.... "PLEASE DON'T GO IAN"
