I haven't seen the incident on Fred's DVD, but was sat in the stand, watching the antics of the MC, and the non-antics of the fourth official, who was being constantly harrassed by Ged Stokes. (I wonder if the DVD will show all that?)
Anyway, the real purpose of this post is to voice my suspicion that, on at least one occasion, Haven had all 17 players, plus 7 water carriers, a trainer, physio, doctor, and three directors actually on the field of play. I would exonerate Mr.Stokes from being on the pitch too - he was definitely too busy getting in the face of the fourth official!
By the way, am I imagining this, or was the fourth official responsible for monitoring the comings and goings of ALL the replacements? Isn't there usually an official reponsible for each team? I must have been imagining it, because the RFL wouldn't allow a game to take place with less than the required number of officials, would they?
