Firstly Id like to Thank Ivan, Kath, Kev, Angela, Josie, Don and Tommy and the other ladies whos names I dont have for helping me sort the coaches out. It did take some organising, but in the end we all got there and did our club proud, real proud to be a LEYTHER today.
It was indeed a good day, despite the result, I ve a lot of sorting out today and I have the big ball raffle to sort out when I retreive the 2 sets of tickets of 2 coaches. ALso I ve got some prizes still in my bag, dont know how I ended up with them really and a one coaches raffle still to draw yet, but dont worry I ll get it all boxed off this weekend and anyone whos won if theyve left a contact number Ill ring them, also ill but winning numbers on here. They will also be annouced at the game Thurs.
After Ive sorted it all I ll also post the money LISA made for the Club last night.

Everyone knows how much effort Lynda puts into LISA and she is to be applauded for it.

It just goes to show subsidised travel does encourage fans to go to away games. Starbug's idea on this needs to be discussed by the chairmen of all Championship clubs in an effort to improve attendances and atmosphere at games.

Our next away game is at Whitehaven even without subsidised travel I would expect us to take about 400. Now if Whitehaven contributed to the cost of coaches it would probably be a lot more.

Well the point is if they paid £250 towards the cost of a coach and Leigh took an extra 50 fans Haven would still make money.

You know that, I know that, but try telling that to somebody from West Cumbria

IMO For Starugs idea to kick off it needs to start with local games, it's to late now but we should have done it for widnes this week, the local rivalry, short distance and therefore cheaper travel costs, would encourage a larger away support, once clubs start to see the value then they would hopefully extend it to all clubs.

Its a sound idea of Starbugs one I'd like to see taken further by the RFL. Some central funding on this idea could make it even more possible. An additional 500 fans at all away games will help to drive home fans in to help with an improved atmosphere/banter!!

If its a Championship initiative then the RFL wont give it 'house room'

Correct , only happen if the Clubs themselves sort it , if the RFL were trying to do it the travel costs would be much too high

What is needed is a leap of faith by one club chairman , but if it was done it would have to be done properly and marketed [ that word again
