| Gordon Brown as chancellor was the arcitect of the pension crisis and as an unelected prime minister has took our country to the brink of bankruptcy. It's time for change.

| Gordon Brown was not an un-elected Prime Minister.
We don't operate a Presidential government.
The Labour party were elected last time round. Tony Blair decided he'd had enough and quit as leader, and as Labour still held the majority of seats in the House Of Commons, they chose Gordon Brown as his successor.
When you put the cross on your ballot paper, you are voting for the individual, or political party as a whole, not just the person who is leading it.

Thank You! Had to comment as I am fed up of seeing all these half witt's on TV going on about an unelected leader... THE PM is the leader of the party with the majority in Govt... whoever that is simple as!
Regards Brown as Chancellor... was that not one of the strongest economies that Britain has ever had? The pound was the strongest currency on the globe as well!
People need to also remember that we are not the only country effected by the banking crisis... the whole western world was!

| they are all as bad as each other.
they can all promise what they like, i judge it by 'what actually goes on around me'
Gordon Brown has really been 'selling' Labour really well in the election campaign, but the last few years have hardly been great.

| Brown spent all the money during the good years and saved nothing for the hard times. He's sold off British gold stocks, stole money from everyones pension and the labour party told LIES to send our young soldiers to fight in Iraq. Just like after 16 years the tories had had their time, so after 3 periods of government the Labour party have out stayed their welcome. All of this rhetoric is pointless, as a pig with a red tie and a rosette would get elected in Leigh.

| The best hope as far as I can see is a hung parliament, Lib-Dems to support the Tories for 12 months and then put us back on track for another election this time next year once the Tories have been shown to be the shysters they are.

Not everyones pension just the ones who are unlucky enough not to work for the state. The growth of the public sector is unbelievable under labour and I know a lot on here work for the Govt. and I'm not having a go at them, but how can it be right that such a massive % of our taxes both local and central prop up the massive burden of the public sector pension schemes it can't be fair.
I will neve vote Tory I remember the 70s and 80s too well but New Labour is not the Labour party that I used to support. For the first time for a long time I have no idea who I will vote for today.

| As somebody pointed out on another thread the reason we have a decent pension scheme is because our wages are e. And for those of us living in Cumbria, thanks to this Labour government, God help anybody needing the fire brigade or an ambulance. Our fire control is being moved to Warrington and the Ambulance control has been moved to Preston! And the staff at Preston haven't got a ing clue where anywhere is up here!

| This is not an anti public service tirade far from it, but you must realize that the reason we have a good pension because our wages are rubbish, does not wash with private sector workers. How many public sector workers are on minimum wage, not many, 100 of thousands are in the private sector. At the other end of the scale, the salaries paid to Senior Hospital Managers,Local Authority Chiefs etc are obscene and only people working in the City match these.
Bad day for this debate but I know what I pay towards my private pension and what I'm likely to get at the end of it and it would equate to less than half what someone working on a similar salary to me in the public sector would get and I will of contributed much much more in pension funds. No one can convince me that is fair, I know many will disagree who work in the Public Sector and I have no problem with that.

You could be right there!
But I can see a lot of people abstaining from Voting but Labour supporters coming out in numbers... we shall see!
Could also end the Tory party as it stands if they lost what should be an unloseable election!
