It's a very sad statistic from a lot of professional sports, boxing being the worst. A player of 18 who is on full time professional terms should be in some sort of education program as well as his physical one.

thats why at clubs the jnr academies should be full time and in NVQ or other training courses (Starbugs idea really not mine)

Very good one too. They should be treated like apprentices and not just somethng that a club has bought.

God, isn't there anything Robbie Paul can't do. He is intelligent and perceptive in his press work as well as on the rugby field.

We have the infrastructure in place Fred , only thing lacking as usual is some money to implement it

Haven't I seen it somewhere that some monies are available from the rfl? They pay the wage, LISA fund the budget?



I have asked previously what does the LSV marketing person do, but I noticed in last weeks reporter that there was a full page on LSV, including details of forthcoming games.

Apparently there are specific targets that have to be met by this ' marketing person ' and they relate to the bringing into the club of corporate type monies , this has to be over and above existing finance , problem is what do we as a club have to sell ? , we dont have ground signage as such , and with no direct promotion nobody will touch us with a barge pole



So they've done their job for the month then



We have 60/70 thousand people in the borough , who have never stepped foot into the LSV stadium , get those to attend one game each per year and getting people to want to finance the club will become a whole lot easier

I was more hoping it was a sign of things to come



I totally agree on getting everyone to visit LSV, how and as you say who funds it is the issue.

You could well be right but I'm almost sure the questionnaire that was sent out a couple of months back as part of his course had to be returned to Huddersfield Uni's Strategy and Marketing Department, so I presumed it was something along those lines.

Robbie was asked at the Lisa meeting, about what he was looking to do after his playin days are over and he said he wasnt going to go into coaching and he was looking at Media work, he explained further, but Ive forgot what he said in detail.
