I have beeb reading with interest the less than positive comments about Steve Maden. This has been associated with a siren call for the inclusion of Nicky Stanton. Whilst Nicky is extremely fast, unfortunately, because of his stature, he will be targeted by the oppositions' aerial attacks. Ian Millward has obviously decided that Maden and Alstead present the most viable option in both attack and defence.
Anyone, other than a keyboard jockey, cannot deny the effectiveness of our wingers today. Well done Steve!

I have been vocal in my belief SM aint good enough. Today he got on with his job didnt do anything daft in defence and contributed to a great team display, oh and I know Basil rates him.

i have never seen stanton picked out as a weakness in defence because of his height and he is a far better attacking option than maden and im suprised maden is getting played instead of him

We have seen a different Maden this year

He is getting back to his best and has continued to improve week on week.

Steve has deserved some of the criticism he has recieved and I was one of those. He now deserves some praise as he looks and is performing like a professional player. Is it IM, I don't know, but what I do know is I am loving it and more of the same please

Always rated Steve , he works harder than any winger in taking up the early returns so giving his forwards as much rest time as possible , yes he can sometimes show too much aggession , but nobody can fault his commitment to the cause

He had is best game for Leigh today since coming back from his spell at Whitehaven.

I have been very vocal in my support of Mado and todya it was proved correct again he does his job and is physical with it he has also weighed in with a few tries this season which despite how exciting Stanton maybe his ratio of tries to appearances is poor.

Steve was shocking last season but this season he is doing his job and his displine as improved hell of a lot, so far he is keeping his place on merit and will take some shifting if he plays like that

madan 4 trys in a 11 games that with the pre-season aswell [he did play well on sun
stanton 4 trys in 5 game aswell as pre-season

alstead 7trys in 11 games thats with the pre-season aswell

Well having watched the dvd back Maden was excellent at Halifax. People also said we don't have enough speed out wide but Maden and Alstead have never been slouches to say the least.

I'm sure Nicky will get games but probably not regularly if these guys stay fit.
