From how I saw it, they were going to do the pitchside announcements only for the PA to pack up?

Can not hear much clearly through the speakers in the North (Hilton Park) Stand due to the fact they burst a few games ago due to the volume, they are the speakers to the left of the sticks looking at the North (Hilton Park) Stand from the pitch.

One of my group was there from 7pm and the team was not anounced.

I was in the West stand/north and the sound system was pathetic when the dancing girls where doing their stuff.

Embarrassing for a new stadium.

they had a problem with the PA as the last time SKY were here they complained that the PA was drowning out the half time 'chat' thats why the blue pigeon loft appeared and the LSV had to rearrange the way the pa works to cut out all the speakers in the east stand, it was all working fine Tuesday but obviously a technical fault happened on Thur.
So no embarrasment just a simple breakdown, they do happen.

Must admit that I'm a touch surprised that one of the executive boxes doesn't have the ability to be 'turned over' in to the TV studio.

its very distorted the sound, come on lsv sort it out, we are forking out a fortune i guess to hire he stadium, the least we should expect is for the damned pa to work.

I'm not directly involved with the PA system, but I do work alongside the people who are.

On Sunday, there were a variety of problems - from extensive changes to the script and running order just 90 minutes before kick-off (leading to the pitchside announcer forgetting to announce the teams), to problems with the CD mix that was provided by the cheerleading group (cd skipping, sound levels for the mix being very erratic causing distortion and clipping), to Sky's demands / requirements.

Having said that, the North Stand sound problems remain a mystery, as generally the sound is very good in the West Stand. But it is being looked in to. It isn't easy to get these things right though, and anyone who has had to operate a sound system in a large, open environment will agree.

I'm sure the problem isn't fundamental - the speakers are all top quality, and the system is very good. Work needs to be done further down the line I suspect.

I was in the one of the boxes towards the South Stand end and none of us in there heard either the half time or full time hooters.

When I watch the game on TV the day after, you could definitely hear them.

The sound system/speakers in the north stand sound like an army of angry wasps are fighting in a tin drum being rolled down a hill.

how strange that they forgot to read out the teams, technical problems i can understand, but something as basic as reading a teamsheet is very odd, anyway apart from that it was a top night.

Very rare there's a score in the first couple of minutes, could the screen not display the teams just after kick off?

They didn't forget, there were technical problems. Think a degree more planning needs to go in to things, personally.

If there is a problem with the sound system surely it is still under warrenty. I would say it's probably something a simple as screening from the walkie talkie transmissions or other systems that only work during the match. It's funny that it works fine for a while then goes on the blink.
