Does anyone remember the draw way back in the seventies?It was televised.

I was sat watching waiting for number 17 to come out (ours of course) last ball in the bag and it was not ours. Ours was on the floor.

Leigh insisted on a new draw and we got one and drew Leeds away. We lost.

And they say we are unprofessional ie Leigh.

The error with that draw Frank,was when they had no ball to pull out, they still said, plays err Leigh, with no ball in their hand. On the replay you could quite clearly see our ball was on the floor for half the draw.

You are right. Giving it some thought wasn't it the season after we'd won the Challenge Cup? Leeds last ball in the hat ours on the floor ? So they said Leeds v Leigh.

Anyways whoever we drew in the redraw we lost.

Actually got Whitehaven at home, in the re-draw and won! 'Haven weren't too chuffed either!

It happened again, in the Arriva Trains, the year we won it. Nigel Wood couldn't sort out the four semi-finalists in alphabetical order. We drew KR at home, and then they re-drew it and we got 'Haven away!! Mind you, it was better beating KR in the final, at Spotland, than in the semi!!

Oh well. Only wrong twice but I was nearly right.

iirc, we lost 4-3 to swinton in the next round, and swinton fans turned up in their thousands.........massive crowd i recall that day

What about Easts though i think they will want to be involved as well, and a lot of Leythers would want them involved.

Leigh East opened negotiations with LSV straight after the draw, and are waiting for their answer which they said will be today. They had to speak to the Groundsman Keith Porter for his view.

I’d be surprised if they do, as good as these lads are, they’ve only just finished playing at that level themselves, we need to ensure a victory to establish a good cup run or a money making next round against a top SL club.
