has anyone else been caught out by the new setup on the halifax / lloyds bank charges?

instead of having #% apr they are now charging £1 per day if your over drawn but are within your overdraft limit and £5 per day if you go over your limit,,,,, dont it make you feel good about the bank bail out plans now

yep, the Halifax, from 6th December.
we're paying the price for their 'problems/misdeamours'.
They should try spending less on those 'silly' adverts, feat. wannnabee pop stars.

think you get a fiver back if you deposit > £1k per mth tho'

Change bank?
Depending on how they value you they'll give you the money back or send you on your way.
A bank with a potential new customer will probably give you leeway and options however don't go the credit card route. Banks can hardly hide their glee when they suggest this, it's a bad idea

Plenty of high street banks will let you transfer your overdraft, that's how they make their money.

Play them off against each other to get the best deal you can.
