Current W£$%N owner and major shareholder in Harlequins RL has apparently missed the deadline for reducing his shareholding in Quins which was demanded by the RFL in 2007 when he bought W$%^n. He was given till December the 1st 2009 to reduce his shareholding in Quins from 65% to 25% or less. Reports are he hasn't done this, and as I suspect those shares are worthless with the 'new' Quins club running up overall debt of over £4 million, can't see anyone wishing to take them off his hands.

So as well as the circus surrounding Crusaders, we also have someone who effectively controls two SL clubs and has done for the last 2 years. The game is a joke and is dying from top to bottom. Something has to be done, however messrs Lewis and Wood may have made the hole just too deep to get out of easily

But if nobody wants to buy the shares from him, what can he do?

Transfer them to someone he trusts? Just a thought.

The question is how much are they worth compared to the original outlay. If he bought them at the same price as they have fallen to then whats the problem?

Would that really make any difference, though? Wouldn't think he has the chance to have owt to do with Quins these days anyroad, there aren't enough hours in the day

He has broken RFL rules. Simple. Now sit back and wait for the RFL to decide on a suitable punishment ( they will probably ask him to go for the hat-trick and buy another club to help them out of a spot of bother and give him 2 more years to sort it out)
Seriously though - would this be allowed to happen in any other professional sport?? Can you imagine the Glaziers owning West Ham as well as Man U. And Gillett & Hicks being a majority shareholder in Burnley as well as Liverpool. The game is being turned into a laughing stock by the very people who run the game.

Maybe just withhold the SKY money from W£$%n and Quins. If all the clubs go bust in SL then we will be the new SL!!!!!

The simplest thing for Lenahgan to do if he wants to run Wigan is simply pull his money/shares out of Harlequins and let them go bust. The reason nobody wants his shares or cant sell his shares is that it is a business that doesnt make any money.

And anyway the RFL will bail them out as they always do.

By allowing the share issue to stand so long it looks like they have.

they could always give him the same punishment as they gave to the Hethringtons as they have a club each.
