You're probably right, but I'd still like to understand why some seem to think we should be given preference over any other club.

The only reason I can think of is, if the 2009 season isn't officially over with, other than that I can't see why.

you keep raising this but you tell us which club you think has a better case than Leigh?

I always thought that the season ended after the grand final.

As far as I know the Championships are based on, on field performance ie the P&R we all crave for, nothing to do with any other criteria.

If Oldham had won the GF they'd be in the championship, and no one would be complaining.

Surely any decision will be taken by the RFL council after a full or emergency meeting, or have they given the 'Executive' those powers? - which wouldnt surprise me one iota.

erm..but they didn't. And is finishing third in Champ 1 better than finishing 8th (assuming a 9 point deduction from Gateshead) or even 9th in the Championship? Put another way, would that Oldham team have earned more points than we did last season? Can't say I am an expert on their team - but I suspect not.

And you talk about on the field performance - well based on that, Toulouse should have gone down and not us. I think you've shot yourself in the foot there...
