This evening I have recieved a phonecall from someone who is very much in the know and I can tell you that IM has been speaking to a certain player about signing for Leigh.

Now this player might not be the youngest but is easily Super League calibre and would walk into a top 6 club in SL.

Now if its true and we sign this player then I will hold my hands up and say AT really has set his stall out to put us back in the top flight without worrying about what it will cost.

The only slight doubt is how they will fit him in given the salary cap next year, but I suppose were there is a will there's way!

How stoopid would the RFL look if a non-SL club won it and then had to backtrack and say it does actually count towards applying for a licence but we were too short sighted and had absolutely no confidence or thought towards anyone outside super league because we live, eat and breathe super league twenny four seven because it's the only Rugby League worf watchin cos Sky tell us that's what we should do.

Has been stated on here on a good few occasions in the past few week that, in terms of contracts we already committed to, we are already over the permitted £150,000 Championship One salary cap. Can only imagine a signing like Cunningham (can't see it happening) would hardly help our salary cap situation!

I've heard this one for a while too. You have to think if he did leave Stains there would be plenty of takers in SL for him. However...there's no smoke without fire. How long was the Millward rumour doing the rounds until it happened?

In the same way CC managed all their players.......... don`t answer that.............Is nt our potential income far greater than other champ 1 sides.......ie crowds,sales etc
