I've heard mentioned on here that Leigh East might be joining Championship 1. How likely is this to happen?

One team goes down from the Championship

meaning there will be a 12 team competition next year, so to make numbers up or maybe a bigger championship 1 some of the top amateur teams may move up.

In reality, it won't help the Championship clubs much, in their demand for more fixtures though.

I'd have thought Miners would stand a better chance with their recent excellent record in the amateur game.

I think there's a leaning towards the Championship becoming a bigger league and the fact that the RFL don't think P&R is good for clubs might play a part in the rumour doing the rounds. After all, the point of stopping automatic P&R to and from SL is to give clubs time to develop and bring through young talent instead of throwing money at trying to avoid relegation. Surely the same reasoning should apply in the lower leagues and maybe someone has heard this may be brought into the Championship at some point soon. It would make sense to give teams aspiring to get into SL the time to develop also. Just a thought but it would make sense. Actually, makes too much sense so forget it then.

wouldnt be against it - infact anything that raises the profile of the town has to be good. But would it not fly in the face of the expansionist agenda?

Well here,s my take on one club being relegated. Three clubs joining Championship 1 have been mentioned ie Warrington Wizards' Bramley and Carcassone. One of those ie Bramley haven,t even applied or even got a ground that they can call their own.

When you play a game you play by the rules or it is not a game. We HAVE to beat Whitehaven or we are relegated.

Do I want us to be ? I think folk who know me know. Would I be happy if the rules were changed so only 1 team was relegated ? Course I would. I don,t think they will be though.

Course if Batley and Gateshead win Sunday's result for us doesn,t matter even though at least we won,t know that till full time.

Doesn,t apply to Super Dooper league and folk wonder why crowds are down this season in ALL leagues.

Don't think that would be a good idea, aside from your comments about Bramley for (at least) 4 reasons

1. The travelling to France would be too much for some Championship 1 clubs

2. The French Elite needs all the teams it can get, it only has 9 at the moment, with none likely to move up

3. The French Elite is a similar standard to Championship 1 anyway so no good reason for the switch to justify the extra cost

4. Taking Bramley and Warrington Wizards out of the RLCN would certainly kill off the league without moving any expansion clubs up, leaving them nowhere suitable to play, and Nottingham and Hemel are a similar standard to them (though I'm not convinced any of them are ready to step up)

Why did Mr Chairman say on another thread somewhere . Don t worry cos whatever points you get you won t go down, And all this about reading between the lines . where you just winding all the fans up and giving us false hope .

They are just waiting for us to be relegated before they stop P&R in this league.
