The loan system in this league is a complete joke! Without those loan players Ive no doubt Widnes would be with us now!

Im glad you picked that one up ! That side Widnes had out last night was their 'true' side baring the odd absentee. They can't bleat on about injuries as we were told 'sh*t happens' after loosing the NRC Final with a depleted squad. Anyway Widnes have their golden ticket and as they say, the rest is history. I wonder who will get the golden ticket at the end of the season ?

Have you not forgotten about Fletcher, Morrison, Duffy and Love, all injured and not loan players!!! Anyway we did what we had to and got the box ticked when it mattered, end of.

Why criticise Widnes? I'd rather be in their position than ours. We should have done the same as them instead of sticking our heads in the sand.

Agreed, too much finger pointing at other clubs on this forum. If its not Tolouse, then its Widnes, if its not Barrow then its Fax. We are in the $hit we are in, simply because of ourselves....no-one elses fault, just ours.

One thing this does highlight, is the risk/disadvantage of taking players on loan. Hall, Penny and Pickersgill all seem to have contributed significantly to Widnes' upturn in fortunes. Then what happens? Widnes get them fit, get their confidence back, and bingo - SL club wants them back!

This will also be a real problem of 'dual-registration', unless some safeguards are introduced, in favour of the Championship clubs

As mentioned above.. there is no doubting that Hall and Pickergil had something of an impact but the real reason for our last two losses lies with the injuries of our two key forwards, Morrison and Fletcher. Duffy's absence does not allow for rotation at hooker and Koe-Love has been...... well absolute class again this year
If we had those players fit and playing last night we would have won.. even without the loan players mentioned above.

To add aswell Widnes are loaning out a damn site more than we are loaning in so on that basis alone i'd say fair play as were still getting players game time!

they are out on loan for the reasons you dont have to pay them, it doesn't count on the salary cap, and Cullen doesn't rate them.

Gary you try for reasonable debate and bite when someone winds you up, yet you put posts on like this it's hardly surprising.

When I saw the two line ups I feared the worst, yet it was a 6 minute spell where you scored 3 tries that did it, and up until the bizarre video ref decision we were still in the game. I was actually surprised at how long it took Barrow to get on top, our pack was tiny in comparision with no Fletch, Morrison and the loss of Pickersgill. With all our fit players back I'd say we'd give you a game in the play offs.

And another thing about Widnes and their loan signings...who got Sky man of the match?

Well i was rooting for Widnes for what its worth ,now can anyone shed light on whats going on with Cassidy's hair i mean whats all that about!!!

Im not knocking your loan signings but without wanting to stir trouble, I think your loan signings were purely on a sh*t or bust basis (a short term solution to win the NRC) - shrewd business in my eyes and Got you the tick you needed and that is that. We could end up with the same situation if one of Wakey's halves gets injured. Widnes may not win another thing for the next 2 seasons which would be no surprise, as it would make sense to put concrete ticks in boxes for all the other stuff.
The video ref decision was a bizzare one I agree but I dont think there is a rule against using the chest so the try needed to be given as Ballard was onside (in hindsight I would say Hewer made the right call)
I agree that it took Barrow some time to get on top and it wasn't until the spell you mention that I thought we were on our way to a win, infact when Flynn scored I feared the worst. I still think the GF is anybodies due to the fact everybody in the top 6 or 7 is capable of beating each other on the day, its just that we have top spot to loose now and my reckoning is that we can afford to loose 1 of our remaining 3, providing we get a bonus point, and still finish on top which will give us a great chance of winning the GF.

The thing with forums is that iit is hard to judge a joke against a serious post ( I have, as you say, been guilty of it) but most stuff I write is with my tongue firmly pushed against my cheek, as I assume most other stuff on here is.

You should'nt go far wrong with a smiley face or two but i have noticed even then some take the post too serious
