4 tries for Rochdale today, thought he'd retired (injury not age)

As did I. Back injury playing for England U21's in South Africa, if I remember correctly...2002ish?

No he was playing for us when he did his back in. We went on a pre-season tour there before we started our debut Super League season. He's doing quite well at Rochdale by all accounts.

Ishy had a couple of other spells in the game before this latest attempt at a comeback, he played for us in 2004 and am sure he did a stint with Rochdale too.

Good to see him back, he scored several tries at the 9s last week too.

he used to 'serenade' us on the trips 'back home' from away games Ishy and his guitar he was quite good.

hope it works out for him i remember the try he scored agianst whitehaven when he seemed to beat the players twice

Saw him play in the Bluebell in Atherton about a month ago - he's not bad at all

Nope, we won the Grand Final in 2001, and we then signed him in the close season, heading off to South Africa on a pre-season.

Yes I've got him as a facebook friend, he was awesome in his first spell at Leigh.

Never quite got back to his best after the back injury but glad to see him back in the game.

He played for Leigh in 2002 and signed off in the Grand Final defeat at the hands of the Huddersfield Giants. He then signed for Widnes in Nov 2002 and hurt his back in the pre season of the 2003 season!

That's right, my apologies. As we pretty much swopped him for Sean Richardson who actually played our first season of Super League for us.

Thats right, we got Ricko for the 03 season and he went on to join Batley in 04!

And what a cracking end to the season he had

He played for Leigh in 2002 (26 starts, 9 bench spots, 21 tries - 2nd top try scorer that year to Neil Turley who got 29). His last game was definitely the Grand Final when we got beat by Huddersfield and Leon Felton had a stinker.

He then moved to Widnes, did his neck, and made a comeback with Leigh in 2004 (that year he made 7 starts and 16 further bench spots scoring 10 tries).

cud have gone a lot further in the game but for a bad injury when he was at wigan, i think he broke his leg in a couple of places, played on the same team as him he was a great player, still is

Had two parts to his game that were dissappointing:

1 - He was greedy and his handling was poor
2 - He could be a nutter on the pitch.

But -..................... If he is fit, I would have him back. I love players who go all in when attacking. Tony Cottrell and Jeff Clarke was great to watch, and we should have made more use of Mark Roberts' agressive style.

His method was simple. (Dont tackle me proper, you might get hurt!). He is still a good player, and I am glad he is reviving his career after such a bad injury.

I believe he was offered to leigh at thebeginning of this season but was turned down
