Now the club has got the best coach in the world coming back (slightly biased of course, no pressure Ian
) should it now start to look at coining it in and move positively forward with good news and make a real go at attracting fans back.
How about putting season tickets out for sale for 100 quid if bought in Sept /October , 110 November, 120 Dec , 150 Jan onwards.
Puts money in the bank early doors and keeps it priced right to attract fans that have left us for one reason or another or even speculate to try and fill large parts of the LSV (the "where you going" effect, us brits always want to be part of something and hate to think we are missing out)
Even go for a 5 game season ticket for 55quid (if bought in Sept).
Throw in 10% discount on Club tops / clothing for season ticket holders and it becomes a bargain that no-one can refuse, reward season ticket holders with pin badges ("2 year LSV Leigh ticket holder" etc)
Get the tee shirts printed "The Chosen Ones return" , "Agent Millward is back" etc, etc (I'm sure the club can get some decent ones drafted up) and charge people a tenner for one (it becomes free advertising that Millwards coming back).
Get South Lanc's Travel on board (and get that Bus painted/sprayed up with Millwards face all over the damn thing and the club badge /LSV on it), start a Bus that runs on (Sunday)matchdays leaving Tydlesley at 12:15, 13:15 and 14:15 on Matchdays stopping at all bus stops via Atherton and Leigh Bus stataion to the LSV, flat fare 1.00 (subserdised by our sponsors /local business's), Get it leaving the LSV at 17:00 & 18:00 after the game.
A family stand is a MUST, get one part of the ground open and come up with a sensible priced structure that involves both parents /guardians getting in for a tenner a game , get the mascot in the same area and a meet the player before the game to sign autographs / have phot's taken.
Open a tuckshop / sweet stall and get a disco/ child play area going in the lower part of the stadium for that part of the ground.
Rebrand (restart) a Junior supporters club with a newsletter sent out, mascot/ballboy chosen from a raffle and a behind the scenes tour by one of our ex players (from the recent past, such as Turley etc).
Get injured players to attend as many functions as possible durring the game (and any out of matchday), get a family season ticket , family Leyther merchandise, do something, currently we are really lacking in this.
The obvious one is to sign some players (i'll skip that as I'm hoping the plan of signing Millward doesn't end there and isn't like the LSV this year "we've got a new ground they'll turn up"icon_wink.gif.
Just a few idea's (and no I've not mailed the club as it keeps bouncing back
, will someone copy and paste any of the idea's if they think its workable ....consultancy fee's in the post
)
There was a feel good factor when the Millward news leaked, its the clubs responsibility to seriously build on this.
We have the opportunity to build up again (regardless of whatever league we are in) and become a proper community club with a real spirit about the place.
Said it umpteen times before but to ignore this opportunity now would be negligent by the clubs owners, time to kick on and move forward.
