| Im not one for booing our own players but after being hammered to Gateshead, who IMO are in a totally false position with some of their overseas players, a finish in the bottom 2 could become reality...
Would a drop be a bad thing???
Could it be a valuable learning curve for some of our younger players.?

| a drop could be critical for you. if you rop down you may find it difficult to get promotion back to the championship and then only have ayear to be able to make a good bid for a franchise.

| It'd be a horrible thing.
Our local derby would be Swinton or the Cornets, not Widnes.
Our weekend away would be the Skolars, not Toulouse.
Our Cumbrian game would be Workington, not Whitehaven.
The biggest Yorkshire club we'd face would be Keighley.
We'd have to play against Hunslet.
We'd have to play home games at Leigh Harriers because our crowds would be down to about 500.
In fact, I don't think we'd even reach that stage. Getting relegated would result in financial meltdown.

In reality I don`t feel our club will be in the running for a franchise spot in 2012...2015 maybe.

It could be worse than that - if Donny fold, we would lose the three points from our victory there!

But how many times do we get told "oh it's not my fault, wait till next season when we have MY players"?
I now choose my away games after following home & away for many, many years. I may soon start chosing home games (even though I have a ST). I can find better things to do with my spare time than keep getting annoyed and frustrated watching that garbage.
Question: are the directors just happy for the club to simply exist or have they got a plan to get us back amongst the best outside SL?

| Quote ="mr. chairman"relegation would be a disaster thats for sure , i think the problem is money ,AT's money goes on the rent and paying bills for the club , most of the money at Hilton park went on players , now it goes on the rent for the stadium . if you have no money you wont get quality players and you have to throw kids in that are not ready , take Danny meakin for an example , Danny is a great prospect but is not ready for 1st team rugby yet and by throwing him in will harm is development . what you need with young players are experienced grafters that will take the load and protect the kids , Rowley knows that but there is no money in the pot so he is going to struggle this season , the team as got to relax and put defense top of its list , the attack will look after itself so stop the b all practice and get on with the technical side of defense, i feel for young ridyard he we have a very skillful player but looks like his confidence is shot at , send him on and give him a free role and watch him improve , saying all that its not looking good at the mo'"
Can i just ask did you go to the game today as imo Danny Meekin (spelt correctly) probably topped the tackle count and worked himself to a standstill and was one of the stand out forwards today.

We currently have no gym for our players (PR at LISA meeting asks if anyone has or knows of space to house the equipment we own) - how bads that?
Yet the mighty world famous multi million pound Astley Amateur Boxing Club have just opened it's new 3000sq.ft gym in Astley.
If the club are struggling then why not meet fans, explain the situation and maybe someone could help individually or collectively. We are playing the worst rugby for a long time and we still attract 1600 fans. Many fans have excellent ideas but may not have enough cash to join the board. Doesn't mean that they couldn't run the club better than those fortunate enough to have money. All this about having to pay for the stadium doesn't make players lose the ability to play basic rugby does it? Line out, run from deep, draw a man then pass, support the man with the ball, kick to open space, try a 40/20, etc I'm amazed how that's happened.
Experts say that clubs going into new stadiums have usually seen an increase in attendances - apart from Doncaster. Am i right in saying that the club we chose to visit a while ago to get tips etc on the move into ours was - wait for it --- Doncaster. Any similarities in outcome?

Sorry. Martin doesn't have the quick eye, speed or defence for this game. He can't go round or through a defensive line. I have not seen anything that tells me he will improve. It's ok saying he did it at the Miners but its like Leigh and SL. They are miles apart.

| Must admit I had you in a double today Leigh -12 against Gateshead I thought the bookies had gone mad. What I didn't realise is how far backwards Leigh had gone, a cricket score at home against Gateshead.
Must keep a better eye on the national league before I punt again, then I must admit I didn't realise Rowley was in charge if i'd have known that I'd have kept my pennies in my pocket .. Rowley!

| The players have been playing probably since they were 10-12 years old. Not all the coaches could of told them to play one man rugby. What about run with the ball and pass. Back up the man with the ball.
I though being a coach was about tactics, planning, training and Man Management. We need a quality coach , until we get one I think we will be lucky to win another game this season.
