Brian Carney has signed for Warrington thought his days were over what do you think about him playing for our league .

Past it for SL IMO.....would be ok in the lower leagues.

He's 33 in July and hasn't played for yonks - why do they want him? He was never that fast before but I bet my 5 year old could beat him now!

apparently at union at the minute so as soon as season ends back to league but dont no if he's playing or in a coaching roll in union ,thought he was fast when playing for Wigan and he has kept himself fit since.

Agree......hasnt played RL for about 2 years since he defected to the dark side ........ hasnt played a competitive game in that code for over 12 months cos of injury......... the current youngsters in SL at the mo will run rings around him IMO.

If i remember rightly he was fast when playing for Wigan dont know about now though we will have to wait and see i surpose.

He did play in the World Cup 7s in Dubai the other month.

I'm definitely in the "class is permanent" camp. The fella was awesome for GB(&I) t'other year.

Dont think age really comes into it if fit as a certain Mr Gene comes to mind ,he must be 40 at least and he's doing fantastic albeit he might be in his last season .

Good luck to him was a class player,hope he does well,previous injuries permitting,if it all goes tits up for him he would be better than the Ball Bag Carrier on BBC Sport,can't wait to see him on the tv flying down the wing again!

He looked good in the Dubai 7s and Tony Smith is no mug. He'll be worth the money for his impact off the pitch and in the dressing room as well as on the field.

Will be interesting to see how he goes - especially if he has a stormer against The Pies in the semi-final and scores the winning try

This is the guy who scored an 80 yard special in a Saints v Wigan derby game in his pomp and outpaced the guy who was supposed to be the quickest winger around at the time (his name escapes me) and he couldn't catch him.

Lets be honest when he was at Wigan Carney was a machine... his career was blighted by injuries and he was never the same. I'm surprised Warrington have signed him but they've got nothing to lose if it doesn't work out I guess.

Didn't he tear Calderwood a new ar$ehole at Headingley in the play-offs a couple of times as well? Not to mention his try for GB against NZ at Huddersfield (I think).

He was OK then, nowt spesh but OK......... and now he's 33? I don't think so! I think Warrington should be aiming their sights higher than a washed up winger that's all.

Speaking of age Peacock is putting his hands up for next world cup when he will be nearing his 36th birthday so who's to say when you should stop playing if you can still cut the mustard.

Absolutely... look at Stanley Gene, Keith Senior, Gary Connelly a few years ago also.

Like I said I wait to be proven wrong. I hope he does well but I shall hold my judgement until I've seen him play. If he does well I'll be the first one on to apologise!
