| Scrum being formed 4 secs left 10 metres from hkr line. Ref raises his arms 2 stop the clock and time keeper sounds the hooter.
A drop goal was nailed on. with Wire put in.

| Best game I've seen for ages and I think the win went the right way. Warrington wanted it more when it mattered.

| Couple of interesting ref's calls in the game. That one with the timekeeper (ref said: timekeeper kepps time, even though I called time off, if the hooter sounds its game over). Technically correct, but against the spirit... ref should have played the scrum and the next play.
The other one was the kick to in-goal knocked back by a Warry player and then caught on the full by Briers... ref gave 'defusing a bomb - 20m tap', but this must be wrong.. as a player touched the ball, it's NOT caught on the full... if it had been knocked forward it would be a knock-on, or if an in-field kick everyone is played on side, or a drop goal attempt it would be ruled out. As soon as it's touched, its no longer 'on the full'.

| i put 2 bets on in the early rounds of the cup,
Wigan
or
Wire to lift the cup
not sure now if it would be a good idea if they played each other in the next round so i have at least 1 team in the final or.........
they don't play against each other and have a possibility of both getting to the final????

yeah, ok, forgot and I'll give you that. But I'm still right about touching a kick from open play. Briers didn't catch it on the full.

Was getting a drink when said incident occured so not actually seen it - did the ball touch the ground before Briers caught it?

Re Wembley 71,s point about taking the scrum after the hooter whilst I agree with the sentiment it would set a dangerous precedent.

The ball touched a player... same difference. Briers was wrong, ref was wrong to change his mind. As soon as the first player touched the kick, it's no longer 'on the full'. Otherwise it wouldn't matter if it were knocked forward into Briers' hand... which it clearly WOULD matter (forward pass or knock on)... so the first player touching the ball stops it being a defused bomb.

| Is it perhaps relevant that Briers is a gobby twot who's attitude is better suited to football?

and then found himself reffing in the summer conference for the rest of the season
his hands were tied, even though there should have been that one last play

| The timekeepers are at fault, the ref clearly indicated time off but the hooter went seconds later. Anyhow, it didn't spoil what was a brilliant match. Best I've seen this season by far.

| I remember a similar incident happening at Hilton Park when Cummings was the ref. IRIC the scores were level at the time. Cummings signalled time off and the hooter went straight away. He allowed play to continue Fax scored and won the game
