Next door to 3000 with no away support and on the telly, is a decent crowd for them considering.

I think that's their second successive home gate under 3,000. Obviously, Catalans wouldn't bring (m)any, (icon_lol.gif

) but support seems to be tailing off a little, or they are relying heavily on away support - which some on here reckon isn't acceptable.

It would look good but we are still in nl not sl Widnes was a good crowd even if they did give free tickets.

Look up the crowds for us in SL for comparable crowds. For example our 2 wins in SL was not much more than Celtic today, and they are around same part of the season and we was on similar run to them. They have been around a few years and nearly matching us already.
Lets worry about getting our gates bigger, then once we are there can look down all smug.


I agree about Widnes crowd being a good one. Free tickets or not, they are in the stadium.

you didn't even need the tickets - just turn up and away you go, might have even let a few of you's in to

It was a very good turn out free or not we wouldnt get near that even with freebies

are you using avg or their lowest gate of season ? Either way it don't matter because we aren't competing against them, as they are development area. We should be getting 3000+ gates, simple as and we are failing.

We really need to wait till the end off the season to compere their average and what ours was in sl but i do agree we should be getting over 3,000 as we used to years ago.

Pointless, they are development area and are not blessed with 5 derbies like we had. Compare to Wakey Cas Salford etc, yes. Or better still get more than Widnes. Thats our bar to reach.

Widnes crowd was bumped up by plenty of neutrals (Leigh, Wigan, Saints and Warrington fans all in attendance) but I'd bepretty happy if we got a similar crowd to the Crusaders with bugger all away support.

Not thought about the derbies to be honest but i think we both agree we need to get more people through the turnstyles how i dont know lets just hope things do improve.

Kevin Penny....its just come to me, didn't he have a nightmare in our cup match last season? Very average from what I recall.

Celtic's crowds are crap, like everyone knew they would be. They have been 'gifted' a place in the TOP league of the best sport in the world, and they 'hover' around the 3k mark. dress it up anyway you want, their crowds are dire, but no worse than Harlequins/London/Broncos/Crusaders/Fulham's have been for the last 25 years. But HEY we've expanded to 2 or 3 other areas, not that M62 Corridor bollox.

Whats done is done. People need to let it go and move on.

If some of the rumours being banded about on the VT and you look at the crowds that Wakey and Bradford are getting things are not looking good for any RL clubs in this country

But we had a game on the tele away from the nasty m62 corridor with all them nasty fans played in wales verus a french team........but both full of aussies and kiwis...yep its working

Perhaps the crowds are dropping in the national leagues due to the fact there is no promotion...no future....why because touloooooooose are in next time

But franchise is the future...now what did sky have yesterday on the football....teams fighting the drop and called it survival sunday...can't wait for the super league ending

When did we have a scenario similar to Prem for relegation on last day, bar the Cas v Wakey a few years back which is the back bone to most's argument for.

How anyone can put a marker on how bad Celtic are supposedly doing after only 3-4 months into their 3 year SL franchise is baffling to say the least. You can't compare them to us, as we have been around for a lot longerwith benefits that go with that.
We have problems, but nowt to do with P&R.
