| I was at the LSV last night and watched the game when i got home as well.
Heres were i think we won the game :-
Defence - First time since i can remember we moved up at pace to meet the attacking players. we did this consistantly for the full 80. This ment Widnes were constantly on the back foot and under pressure hence 12/13 handling errors from them. We also held them in there own 30 meters on about 6 possesions giving us great field possition
Ruck - We dominated the tackle again not seen us do this for ages. Normally we get hammered with quick play the balls from other sides but last night apart from websters try we dominated the ruck area putting players on their back. Again quick line speed off the defensive line played a big part in that.
Moves - Looks like we are finally realising 1 man rugby will not cut it at this level. I personally dont mind if we make mistakes if we are trying to be creative (at the right time and in the correct field position of course).
Last night we put some great moves together and Alsteads second try was one straight off the training paddock and considering the conditions was superbly exicuted. More of the same please Mr Rowley
Effort - You could tell the lads were motivated last night and every man wanted that win. Again defence is the best key to how much players are up for a game and as stated above we were outstanding in this area
Fans - Great support from the fans you could see the players lift when we got behind them it is massive factor in sport and we all have a part to play. Its good when we get behind our team and makes the game more enjoyable and of course a better atmosphere. Last night for the first time it felt like the LSV was our home long may it continue.
Congratulations to Paul Rowley as well 2 wins from 2 you cant argue with that and it seems the lads want to play for you. Lets hope Joe Williams is the final peice of the puzzle and we are back on track for a play off finish.
Lets build from this now and keep up that effort thats all True supports are bothered about WELL DONE LEIGH

| Although I don't disagree with your comments, I think Widnes also took a wrong option after successive penalties and six pts behind, going for goal rather than applying the pressure and trying for six, after that goal there was a bit of a knockonathon in the Widnes half and from there on they never really managed to build any sort of pressure.

The same could be said about ourselves, mind - especially the second penalty which must have been 40m+ away from the sticks. That said, it's all about running the clock down at that stage of the game and no grumbles about going for the two.
Thought our defence was shaky out wide for the first 20 minutes or so, but after that it was rock solid and there were some absolute monster hits put in, by both sides.
Top post by the way Saley - completely agree that the LSV really did feel like 'home' last night.

| Just goes to show that coaches like dic-tionary head Cullen have not got a clue at this level, he made the same mistake last week at Haven, for me there has been no significant improvement at Widnes since he arrived, they should have ley Stankevitch have the job until the season end.
Well done Rolls and the lads, it just goes to show when the lads have a coach they can respect what they will do for him an the fans who get behind them and not the boo boys, who seemed to have migtrated to Widnes

'" Wouldn't make any difference - its the lack of confidence and composure that cost us last night. We lack size in the pack and in Doran have a penalty machine, but last night I felt we were competitive.

| we did have some luck go our way too. Had the cameras not been there, one or two crucial decisions might have not been made.
it made a very nice change to see the opposition cracking under pressure and giving away daft penalties.
i'm not getting carried away...5th or 6th will be an achievement for this team this year.

Thought the same myself - didn't even cheer our last try as I thought it was a nailed on knock on

Slight difference though we were already in front, they were chasing the game

Granted, but it did put them within an uncoverted try of drawing level so, with the amount of time left on the clock I could understand the decision, albeit hugely underlining the lack of confidence they had in their own attack.
