How big a squad do they need.

Coming from the "GIANTS" I was surprised how small he was.

ENOUGH to put 100 points past somebody, because they are that good.

We only have 24 players in our squad . . . and no reserves!

Jeez have the Yorkshire unwashed ventured on to the Leigh board to, they get about do these fax fans.


Preaching on quite a few boards now.................they are the new Hull KR.

Watched Hemingway since he was a 'kid' big boot, small heart, been on loan to I forget who, never set the world on fire, they need a big squad because they are playing the 'no reserve team' game.

There is a difference... HKR went on to prove it, I don't see Fax still being a contender in three years time.

Why not?

In short, I think you're going to peak too soon. Any players that you bring through in this season or next will be playing SL before Fax will. Year three is going to be the crucial year - there will be no advance warning of who will be promoted (if any are) as this will defeat the object of the three year strategy.
With this in mind, and young player who thinks he's good enough to play in SL will surely take any contract offered him? I know I would. This clearout of your quality players will then have a knock on effect leading to you needing to recruit quickly in your third season, and then into your first season of SL.
I'm not saying that you'll not get into SL, only that you'll get your backsides kicked from Catalan to St Helens.

Next years conquering side will be the side that would survive.

IMHO

There is a way to narrow the teams down that are eligable for SL though isnt there. I also doubt we will be bringing may players through so to speak. Id rather us just buy the best available after all going down the route Leigh have gone down, as we have tried before, if any of your young uns turn out to be any good they will be a, either off to SL, or b, off to a better championship side. Id also like to think that the brand of rugby we play will be incentive enough for any players thinking which team to join in this league thus i hope we continue to have the pick of the players that are available.

24 in the Squad now, only 22/23 fit and availible (Govin out for 6 weeks, Goddard back soon but no ones sure)

And I'd like to think that the price of beer will come down.
