I went to the game at Batley today as we (Fax) had no game. I thought you started well and were 18-0 up in no time, then it just appeared to be take the foot off the gas time.

The ref gave Batley everything, there was 1 incident in the 2nd half where Bately knocked on and Leigh did, it should've been Leighs put in at the scrum but he gave it Batley! I'm surprised he disallowed Batley's try at the end which would have won them the game.

Overall it looked like 2 poor teams but was a decent game for the neutral.

Well I am not a neutral but some of the refs decisions were bizzare and even Batley fans said so.

We should have been out of sight by HT then in the second half bad tackling gives em a score when their winger scored from 60 metres out.Again it came off a wrong decision by the ref ably unassisted by a TJ who can,t even see from which side the ball goes into touch off.

Batley are dreadfull and Leigh, well we are better than this , but whenever we play Batley a collective madness seems to take over.

A win is a win and the try disallowed for Batley was because he wasn,t over the line. A fantastic try saving tackle from believe it or not A Stewart.

I,m glad we won but we need to play a lot better than we are doing.

What were the sin binnings for? Were they justified?

I don't think Smith's was justified tbh, it was for taking the kicker out off the ball but there didn't look like much contact. As for Morty, hard to say from where I was. It was for holding down and out of the two I'd say Morty's was more justified.

Morty's was a definite, but was a neccesary evil as, had he not held down his man, then Batley would have almost certainly scored straight from the play the ball. Didn't get a good enough view of Smith's so will happily see how other people interpreted it.

Their disallowed try near the end (awesome tackle from Tony Stewart, by the way) was evened out by our one that was chalked off a minute or two beforehand as far as I'm concerned.

It was hard to tell whether your disallowed try shuld have stood from behind the sticks. Thought Armistead who 'scored' it was your best player today.

Armistead's kick-chase has been pretty impressive this season so actually kept an eye on him when Watson kicked it, and Armistead actually had to run past the kicker to get the ball, so I've no idea why it was given offside.

I thought that too. He was eager for the ball and shouted for it constantly and made some good tackles. He actually impressed me in the Wakey game despite us getting battered that night

I've always said there should be another ref in the stand to adjudicate over back play.

Not in 'back play' (I'm thinking a brawl whilst the game carries on, here), as they'd have to continue viewing the game in progress until the referee stops play.
