darren's been playing for miners since he was seven, his dream has always been to play for is beloved leigh centurions, but that seems to be slipping away with leigh showing no interest in this very talented young individual.

If Widnes offered more then they obviously have more money than we do, is that Leighs fault?

But Widnes offered MORE MONEY than Leigh

So Leigh did show an interest , but not enough to change the dream of a lifetime

I guess the reality is we can't sign everybody for the money they all want.
Some you win, some you lose - but it sounds like all parties have got what they want out of this...so good luck to all concerned.

Maybe we took into account the last two 'young' players (not counting Riddy and AJ as both were from the open age team) we signed from miners who gave back word? Once bitten twice shy perhaps (or twice bitten in this case)

Am i right in saying that Leigh did display interest in this young man, but however they could not match the payment Widnes where offering?
If this is the case then it all boils down to loyalty, if it's your dream to play for Leigh and you are offered terms, regardless of payment, then take it.
Once again the allure of the pay packet i would say.

i have no idea if this kid is any good, so can't comment, but as has been said his dream to play for his beloved leigh, well do me a favour, i'd have more respect if he said i'll sign for whoever is prepared to pay me the most cash, end of, good luck at widnes.

if he wanted too play for leigh, he would have, obviously meant, wanted to play for Leigh for the right money!

I go back to my last point, no one knows what Leigh offered. It might have been paltry sum. Loyalty doesn't come in to it when you have a mortgage to pay and/or mouths to feed! I think you're all being a bit harsh on the lad without knowing the facts.

Given the fact that he's a junior player, I wouldn't imagine he is quite at the "food on the table" stage just yet (never know, mind).

He's got a kid and a wife pal.
