Anybody else feel sorry for Cookson having to be water carrier whilst Hobson gets to play despite putting ZERO effort in? Hobson gave away at LEAST 8 points tonight through a high tackle on the last play and missed tackles because he is too lazy to bend his back an tackle properly. Got to be dropped for next game he stunk tonight and its not the 1st time either!!

We need to Find a Matt Sturm or a Simon Knox before we can axe Hobson, I don't disagree his performances have been poor but without hoim we have ZERO agression i would say that is quite obvious and its is to the opposition as well.

When was the last time Hobson used his aggression in a useful/positive way though?? He just gets wound up when he's tired and then starts giving away silly penalties for high tackles etc because he is too lazy to bend his back. I'd rather have enthusiasm than Hobbo's 'aggression'. If Hobson had the attitude of Meekin he would be fantastic at this level. I wasn't bowled over by Cooky last time but he deserves a chance instead of Hobson at the moment.

On a good few occasions in the Widnes game IIRC. And let's not forget that Cooky proved to be an unfit penalty machine on his last outings.

We found that when he was at Halifax. If he is on the bench he just gets wound up and by the time he comes on he is a bit of a liability. We got around it by starting him for a few games, but he soon looses his head. To be honest I think everyone has seen his best.

I missed them, I saw many missed tackles though, but somebody said he had hurt his shoulder.

Cooksons coming back from injury, he didnt miss any tackles in his last game which was Fev away. He just wasnt on long enough to do anything.

Cookson looks in best shape deserves a chance, hopefully fitness will show through for him. Need more impact on the field not Hobson on one man mission to give games away!

A month ago I would have said Hobsn before Cookson.

Hobson for me has handed a chance to Cooky who should be in the 17 next match instead of Hobson.

Its up to Cookson to grab the chance and for Hill and Morrison to keep Hobson out

Hobson will come back and still will be an asset but 2nd man in and missed tackles loses his plave for me and thats what competition for places should be all about

Not much point having him in the 17 if he gets 2 10 minute spells were the hooker and H/B s only give him one pass every 18 ptb s

Not quite sure what you are getting at but Its up to the player to put himself in the position to recieve the ball and the acting half back/first reciever to deliver. If we have the ball every 2 minutes then I would expect no less than 7 drives from each prop every 15 minutes and for each prop to to have at least 2 15 minute and 1 10 minute stint. Fitness and injurys would obviously dictate whether this was adhered to. If this does not happen then there is no point and we may aswell have no props who thrive on short aggressive stints.

Cooky was limping somewhat after the reserve game today. There were also rumours emerging that Adam Thomas has started a loan spell with Rochdale.

I guess we'll find out for sure tomorrow.

On the subject of 'spelling' props, I think Stuart Dickens did the full 80, on Thursday! Incredible effort, that, or did we just not tire him enough?

Also you look to ' match ' up attackers and defenders , ie Rob Burrows will tend to run at the bigger slower players and you want your bigger forwards to target the opposition H/B s , hooker

We scored a try on thursday when Hilly was left out of the scrum and ran out wide , Saints did something similar I think with graham on friday

What I do know is it is very difficult to ' switch on and off ' playing to certain styles of RL , ' catch up RL ' is the term when you have to start playing off the cuff to score a certain number of points in a given time span

Quite often players end up making themselves look stupid because of how much they are trying to push the game , this then transmits to the fans who get frustrated by mistakes made by players pushing things too far
