| The only reason we'll lose over Easter is because Widnes and Barrow are alot better than us.

Indeed, unlike us, both clubs have signed 'proven' quality players.

| No problem in general with Laughton but Hewer I am not sure.
Ronnie tends to let the game go and generally does not dish out a lot of penalties. Thagt can be both a good and bad thing but the same for both teams.
Hewer is a little less consistent with his decision making which can lead to frustrations from both players and fans.
For what its worth I think we will get nothing at Widnes but scrape a home win against Barrow. The deciding factor in our home win will be the Chegwin factor

| i dont know why we on this forum always blame refs cant you accept we just arnt big enough how many games this season have we camped out on the opposing teans line and not been able to score and our kicking game leaves alot to be desired short kick is the answer if we cant break the line how many times as the likes of briers put us costantly under pressure and we should stop giving away silly penalties away especially on the last tackle i could go on but i wont

| Briers? err he plays for Warrington we aint played them, and there aint anyone in this league near enough as good at kicking as Briers. Plus we are only as bad as most in this league at giving away last tackle penalties, so please feel free to go on even if you are wrong (its ball in hand penalties we are worse at giving away)

Thing is if we get well beaten at Widnes we're not likely to attract anyone who was in two minds whether to go to the Barrow game or not.
Fingers crossed we can get our best 13 on the park and give them a game.

Laughton reffed us at Doncaster, and caned us 12-3 on penalties. I wouldn't have minded if he'd been reffing us at our place, but unfortunately we are the away team and it will show again, in his penalty awards. Hewer had us at Wakey, and the penalty count was only 6-5 against us.

It could be anything to do with our famed "indiscipline" and not the referees could it?
I know we were very harshly done to at Fev but surely it can't be the referee every game... can it? lol

| No. Every single player that has played for you in the last five years and probably further back than that, has been very ill disciplined. I remember you having this ill disciplined tag in the early 2000s. It is obvious that the 270 players or so that have played for you during that era have all been ill disciplined. It makes sense that when you pull on a Leigh shirt, you immmediately become stupid and start to lack discipline. Let's get real. If it was just for a season that you lost about 85-90% of all penalty counts, I would not believe it was genuine, but I certainly think there is something not quite right , when you have supposedly been ill disciplined for about a decade!!!

| If I am not mistaken, Leigh currently have exactly the same points in the league as Widnes and from 14 games played so far this season, including friendlies and cup games etc, Widnes have won 6 and lost 8, whereas Leigh have played 13 and won 7. Of course, all this counts for nothing on Friday, but I am struggling to find the concrete evidence which says that
Widnes are a lot better than you. I do not think that the Widnes fans were thinking this when they were losing at home to Oldham, struggling to beat Sheffield at home, losing at Barrow and being absolutely thrashed at home to Salford etc.

You know, I've been thinking about this myself for years.
I'm not saying we're not ill-disciplined, because we've had some bad ones in the past (Street, Rowley, Bibey, Moore, Hobson to name several) and we were always likely to give penalties away for head shots/brainfarts, but I honestly struggle to remember many games where we've 'won' the penalty count. I'm sure there are quite a few, but I'd guess that Leigh have lost a significant majority. Everytime I go to a game (which isn't as much as I'd like to at the mo) we always seem to get caned by the referee, but so many times it isn't done to the other team. A lot of the penalties tend to be borderline or where there are instances of both teams offending but Leigh always seemed to cop for it from what I can remember. Are we that ill-disciplined, and have we been for the last 10 years, or is there something that doesn't meet the eye?

I agree with you 100% about our indiscipline. What puzzled me was how Doncater's famed indiscipline only stretched to three penalties awarded against them! (two of which were on our tryline!)
